I really like these. Shame this one's only a 1.6, as I'd love to own a 2.0 V6 example.

This one came in Kwik Fit whilst I was waiting to pick up a car for work. It's got a blowing exhaust, which I'm guessing isn't going to be a cheap fix. From what I could work out from the conversation, the part it needs is rare, and the customer had to leave a deposit before it was ordered.

A nice example of the rare Xedos 6, still with it's Oxford Mazda plates and rear window sticker (which I should have photographed when I saw it again on a drier day than seen here).

For sale in a local car park for £495.

This tempts me a lot, as I've always liked these, and it's in exactly the spec I'd want if I were going to buy one - V6 Auto with full leather. Not to mention the fact I was planning to sell my Prelude next month anyway...

It's just been MOT'd, and has 111,000 miles on the clock. It looked a straight old car.

I do vaguely recognise it from seeing it locally, but it would appear that I've never photographed it before.

A very unusual sight these days. Not as popular as the Xedos 9 from memory.

I think this was Mazda's attempt to steal sales from Lexus, BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz.

A real oddity and surprisingly funky inside.

The Xedos series was Mazdas premium range offering, mimicking the likes of Toyota with Lexus, with its 6 and 9.

The Xedos 6 was however squarely aimed at the BMW 3 Series. The interior build quality was incredible, feeling like an expensive car from the moment you get in. The engine was deceptively quick making only a quiet whizzing noise - it also had a huge boot but, like many older Japanese cars it had a crampt interior. Still, I'd so have one!

The Xedos 9 was introduced by Mazda in 1993. The model was intended for Mazda's luxury brand Amati, which didn't come to live. Instead Xedos was a sort of sub-brand in Europe. In other markets the car was sold as Eunos 800 or Mazda Millenia. Mazda ended production of the Xedos 9 and the Xedos sub-brand in 2002.

Mazda Xedos 9 at Morges

Known for its 2.3L V6 supercharged Miller Cycle Engine (2.0, 2.5 normal V6 are also available) that performs an outstanding 210hp, the Millenia is a luxury sedan Mazda released in 1992, and discontinued in 2002, however, facing strong competitors from both Japan and Europe, the car didn’t succeed commercially in Taiwan, which makes the car extremely rare here.

fun fact: when I first saw this car here at the same position 1 month ago, it was too dark to take a good picture of it, when I came back the next day, it had already left, and I thought it would be years later when I see a Millenia again, but well, I was wrong :D

Finally reaching the end of 2023 for camera photos - at this rate I'll be fully caught up in - actually I never will.

This was a tip off from a friend, and what a find! Down to the awesome colour and Ayrshire plate code.
