Karla and first-time marathoner Tanya picked up their race kits, and are now looking at displays... and looking for bargains.

May 30, 2010, 11:06 p.m. The Ottawa Race Weekend runs the 42.2 and 21.1 km races concurrently. The finish line photo includes marathoners Julia Ivory (orange shirt), Daniel Guay (blue shirt), Eric Blake (yellow shirt), and Lise Corbeil (holding sponges), and half-marathoners Gail Donnelly (pink top), Robi Vanos (arms raised), and Laura Rashleigh. In Ottawa, the half-marathon race starts 2 hours after the marathoners, so the finish line is very crowded at here at 4:06 & 2:06. At the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, the 2 races start at the same time, so it's a crowded start for the runners rather than a crowded finish. Which would you prefer? For me, the crush of the Ottawa finish is exciting.
