Wreck of the Norwegian barque SS Nornen. March 1897, the ship's crew of ten, together with their dog, were taken off by the lifeboat the John Godfrey Morris, launched from Burnham, and landed safely at three o'clock in the afternoon. The rescue is recorded on the honours board of rescues made by the three lifeboats at Burnham during the period from 1867 to 1930 and which today stands in the entrance to the Burnham RNLI Station.

low tide rocks at Compton Bay with the wreck of the "Carbon" Tug. Crazy cloud formations with very low cloud sitting on Tennyson Down on the right side.

Not a doggy stitch of this two frame Vertorama that is how the clouds were.

Nature eventually takes over...

Not a Moskvich as first thought, but an Opel Kadett. Thanks to Berresfordmotors and die Welt ... for identification. Quietly resting near a quarry in Malta.

Metra 139 is part of a four-unit set of commuter power coupled together at the coach yard in West Chicago, IL on August 14th, 1988. It's likely these units were taken to Proviso for wheel work over the weekend, and have arrived back at West Chicago on this Sunday afternoon to be placed back on their suburban consists and be ready for the Monday morning rush. Interestingly, F40PH-2 139 has had some minor wreck repair done with RTA blue paint used on the left side of her nose and around the inertial air intake. Recent information on the C&NW Railfan's Facebook page explained that this unit was involved in a sideswipe incident at the CPT on May 25th 1988.

56/365 | Usually, I follow the rules and stay in line, so I'm conflicted about whether I should wreck this Keri Smith journal like she says. Or, be a rebel and treat it like a precious object. I'm thinking doing what I'm told this time will be more fun (therapeutic).

Location: Magherclogher Beach, Bunbeg, County Donegal.

This old wreck beached on Magherclogher Beach, Bunbeg, Co.Donegal, in the early 70s. Here it has remained, to become a tourist attraction and is known locally as 'Bád Eddie' (Eddie's Boat).

Corpach Wreck .

Built in 1975, this ship was originally named as MV Dayspring and laterally as Golden Harvest. In her prime she was an excellent fishing vessel returning many a herring and mackerel before a raiser chain failure during a heavy storm on the 8th of December 2011 caused her to run ashore, she has been here ever since admiring the view of Ben Nevis..

see also mvdayspring.co.uk for the history of this ship

Location

Con Dao Island, AKA Con Son or Con Lon, is located about 100 nautical miles South East of Vung Tau City, Vietnam. This is one of the most beautiful wild islands in the world and a favorite of the movie star couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.

Time

In winter and spring season (this photo) the island is covered by thick stormy clouds most of the time, especially at sunset and sunrise.

Knowing in advance that the weather would be unfavorable, I still took the trip anyway, for a short moment 1 in the 4 days staying in the island, the sun broke out and the result was a limited but beautiful sunrise sky. I thought the dark clouds add drama to the shot.

Techniques

2-stop hard grad ND filter and polarizer were used with hyperfocal distance focusing technique.

Well known wreck at Dell Quay, Chichester Harbour.

Test shot with my brand new Canon 17-40mm f4 L lens. got rid of my 2nd hand Siggy 12-24, it was so soft (especially on the right hand side) I never really used it.
