~ Title from the book Good Faeries/Bad Faeries by Brian Froud. He is just the best there is!
Please bear with me - I must be going through some sort of fairy phase.
But I told myself as I was doing this: "NO MORE!" It's too tedious. PP is taking way to long. I've missed PPing/uploading two days of my son's 366 because of the time it's taking me to do these. And I haven't been able to catch up with most of you... :-( Sorry! If you've sent me flickr mail that I need to reply to, I promise I'll try to do that tomorrow.
And now I'm all photoshoped out. I'm going to bed!!!
P.S.
Would a square crop look better for this?
Stephen's dad, Howard, my stranger 299, had told me that his son Stephen and Stephen's girlfriend, Morgan, had been in the Guardian at the weekend. The national newspaper had covered the Glastonbury Beltane celebrations. Morgan and Stephen's photograph had featured.
Morgan told me that they had dressed up for the festival but hadn't expected the attention that they got. Few people had gone to as much effort as Morgan and Stephen. Their costumes, at the festival, had included big horns. Morgan and Stephen joked that they were the famous horny couple. They were continually stopped for photos. I thought that maybe they were fed up of people asking for their photos but they were happy to join Howard, in being part of my project.
We found some shade in the abbey ruins and I photographed each in turn. Then I took a few shots of the couple together. My original intention had been to include Stephen and Morgan as separate entries on my project but I've decided to keep them as one stranger together.
Like Stephen's dad, they are both creative, enjoying their art. They recommended that I go to 3 wishes faery festival. It is a really colourful. Morgan has seen some of the elementals that Brian Froud had depicted, in his illustrations, at this event.
When I took their email addresses, Stephen asked if I had Howard's email address too. I told him that Howard had given me the address of his website. Stephen was surprised, he didn't realise that his dad was so clued up about the web.
Both Stephen and Morgan were so positive about my project and we exchanged words of thanks as we said our goodbyes. We will undoubtedly meet again, now that we are no longer strangers and Stephen and Morgan live locally.
Thank you Morgan and Stephen for agreeing to be in my project. It was good to meet you.

Inspired by Brian Froud's Pressed Fairies series (poet and I didn't know it!) for Lady Cottington's Pressed Fairy Book.

This is a art deco sculpture I picked up awhile ago because it reminded me of Brian Froud's" work with Fairies who you also may know from his work in the movie the labyrinth with the great David Bowie.
Not familiar with their names? How about Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, or Yoda, among other things? Still not familiar, head over to their website (http://www.worldoffroud.com/index.html).
Created by Brian Froud (worldoffroud.com/)
By far the very first person to inspire me and capture my attention as a child, Brian Froud's works are wisps of pure imagination.
Amy Brown is not my favourite fairy artist, but I think this air freshener is cute, and it matches my car. So I endured its horrid stench while it lasted (thank goodness its now scentless!) for its cuteness.

Me, D and a Froudian Critter. This lady had amazing dedication to her costume, it was sweltering out there.
I got a lot of pictures taken of me on Saturday, but this is the only one I have of my whole costume. Sadly it doesn't show the green silk arm band thing. I need to fix the closure on it though, it needs elastic I think, it kept slipping down.
One of my inspirations for getting into art. Thanks for making a world for me to visit.

The device on this little girl's head let her hear the music that was playing on the stage and she was having a ball dancing to it.
This couple was adorable what with her butterfly wings and the little butterflies he had all over his hat and beard.
This little girl came walking up to us and asked me silently if I minded if she sat next to us. She proceeded to sit on an invisible camp chair and read an invisible paper. It was charming, no matter what your opinion of mimes is normally.
My mom in the foreground and E's mom in the background in purple. She's spinning poi, that's why her hands are all blurry.
