I thought I would publish this image for World Earth day.

It was taken last week at Dungeness during my first taste of real freedom since October last year.

I took my ever faithful Leica X, and post processed this in Luminar 3 to find this unique monochrome look.

I hope you all enjoy.

Earth Day 2023

We passed out our UG in 1996 from beloved JGEC which is an awesome 100 acre campus and after so many years I was happy to see this big tree standing tall in front of the campus in December end 2022 when I last visited campus after passing out in 1996.

Albizia lebbeck is a species of plant in the family Fabaceae, native to the Indian subcontinent and Myanmar. It is widely cultivated and naturalised in other tropical and subtropical regions, including Australia. Common names in English include siris, Indian siris, East Indian walnut, Broome raintree, lebbeck, lebbek tree, frywood, koko and woman's tongue tree!

Once again, it’s that special time of the year! We can’t wait for Earth Day 2023, which is just around the corner. Earth Day is a celebration of the earth and our environment. It is a historical event that takes place every year. On Earth Day, we will remember how closely we are connected to the earth, as well as our responsibility to protect it.

Engineering colleges often seem to be a boring place for all. The primary reason for taking admission in these colleges is achieve academic excellence for better careers. However, there is no harm in studying at a place where you can glance out of window to catch the glimpse of a beautiful world.

It was taken last week at Dungeness recently, and follows on from last years world earth day image. I looked upon it as continuity, and showing what happens if we take the red pill.

This pair of swans are in my local park, which I have been visiting nearly every day since the start of the Covid 19 pandemic.

In the early part of 2020 the male (cob) lost his life long mate, as she died. There was one remaining cygnet from the previous year's clutch. They both flew off one day and I thought that the park would be a sad place without them, as they had been the subject of many happy shots over the years.

Lo and behold a week later he flew back with a new pen (mate) and I thought it would be too late for them to produce young this year.

However they mated and the pen had been on her nest for some weeks.

Imagine my joy when I visited early one morning to find out she had hatched a clutch of four cygnets.

On this particular morning (about two days after the cygnets had hatched) the parents brought them out onto the lake and I waited patiently to capture this wonderful shot of the two of them with their four cygnets in the early morning light.

We only have one planet folks. Let's look after it.

22nd April 2019:

When I had finished taking my MM photo, I took the opportunity of getting my photo for today. Our Mexican Orange blossom is popping and looks wonderful. Smells great too.

I'd noticed the flowers beginning to open yesterday so had my photo lined up. Good thing really, as it's not been so great weather wise here today.

Also Happy Earth Day.

Better view large and thank you for your favourites. :O)

Celebrating World Earth Day 2024 in Thailand!

Situated at Ban Samet Nangshe, Khlong Khian Subdistrict this 800-metre-high viewpoint offers beautiful panoramas of the surrounding scenery.

Samet Nangshe Viewpoint is one of the most popular panoramas in Phang Nga. Located on a hilltop just a 30-minute drive from Phuket, it offers stunning views over the limestone islets of Phang Nga Bay. Being far enough away from civilisation to avoid light pollution, you can even see

the Milky Way at certain times.

World Earth Day 2025

View from Assekrem, Algeria

Assekrem is a high plateau in the Hoggar Mountains of southern Algeria. Rising from the larger Atakor plateau, Assekrem is within Ahaggar National Park. The maximum altitude of the plateau is 2,726 metres (8,944 ft), the second highest point in Algeria.

After appearing in the 1974 James Bond movie The Man with the Golden Gun, Khao Phing Kan and sometimes Ko Ta Pu became widely referred to as James Bond Island, especially in tourist guides, and their original names are rarely used by locals.

It is spectacular, as is Thailand. Happy Earth Day 2024:)

Plant a tree today. Make the life of the Earth much longer. Take care of our own land

Earth Day is a day that is intended to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment. Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in first held on April 22, 1970. While this first Earth Day was focused on the United States, an organization launched by Denis Hayes, who was the original national coordinator in 1970, took it international in 1990 and organized events in 141 nations.Earth Day is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year.Numerous communities celebrate Earth Week, an entire week of activities focused on environmental issues. In 2009, the United Nations designated April 22 International Mother Earth Day.

To see the beautiful world you must View On Black

What a beautiful World…

“I see trees of green, red roses too

I see them bloom for me and you

And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white

The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night

And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky

Are also on the faces of people going by

I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do

They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies cry, I watch them grow

They'll learn much more than I'll never know

And I think to myself what a wonderful world

Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.”

Taken during my Orlando trip. On our way saw this beautiful beach, stopped the car and took a few quick shots. The sky was amazing….the grass against the sandy beach, the sky …made me think what a beautiful world we live in……

Enjoy the moment !!!!

at last we might be (fingers crossed) enjoying spring... in saying that we have had some cracking hailstone showers today!

April 12 2025 ushered in the first Benjamin Zephaniah Day: A Festival of Rhythm, Unity and Revolution. Tess & Ruby are sisters and performed a Tai Chi demo. Tess is an artist, children’s book author and art director for Licklemor Productions. Ruby, in red, is a poet and writer and is currently working with Qian Zephaniah and the Benjamin Zephaniah Foundation.

The event took place on campus, where the celebrated poet, actor, activist and ‘people’s laureate’ had worked as a professor of creative writing until his death at the age of 65 in 2023. This festival coincides with his birthday weekend with creative workshops for adults and children, exhibitions, film screenings and performances by poets, musicians, and artists. "Let every individual and institution now think and act as a responsible trustee of Earth, seeking choices in ecology, economics and ethics that will provide a sustainable future, eliminate pollution, poverty and violence, awaken the wonder of life and foster peaceful progress in the human adventure."

- John McConnell, founder of International Earth Day

Do something this 22th April and everyday if we all CARE!!

Also, inspired by the work of my friend Rajah Brooke

This was taken @ water source (almost) of the Melinau River, Mulu National Park (UNESCO World Heritage site) - March 2008. To the right is the underground river tunnel (out of view) from where the water actually flow out from Clearwater Caves underground river system ie. the water source origin! Pristine nature- intend to return to the same spot a few years from now and hopefully see the same.

Food for thoughts - Borneo is home to the world's oldest tropical rainforests which, until a few decades ago, completely covered the island. Among the planet's most biologically diverse ecosystems, these forests are home to thousands of endemic animal, reptile, insect and plant species as well as orangutans, rhinos, hornbills, macaques, gibbons, tarsiers, slow loris and also at the same time, primary oxygen-producing source for Earth's atmosphere....North America with only approx 0.05% of Earth's population produces roughly 1/3 of Earth's CO emission (global warming!)... go figure.

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EARTHDAY.ORG

This was taken in Khao Lak, Thailand where there is great awareness and respect of the natural world.

Vancouver’s pathetic token effort at ʹEarth Hourʹ I guess why bother when we are all doomed anyway, right? Next time you go get your beloved sushi think about the state of our oceans - look up ocean hypoxia. Not only is your favorite ocean fish most likely being fished into extinction any chance of recovery is bleak at best as the ocean of life (giver of life) is turning into an acidic cauldron of human induced death. If the rising tides and changing weather patterns due to global warming don’t get us – starvation will.
