Down the local, with Captain Hercules Strangerudder, enjoying a pint or 2 whilst he watches the World Cup final. I'm chatting to the barmaid....

I liked all three pics, so I included them all- which one do you like best?
Scenes from the beaches and the street. Can you tell Uruguay and Costa Rica are playing in town later in the day?
To mark the occasion of the final draw for the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the British Ambassador's Residence hosted a reception on December 6, 2025. The event highlighted the UK as a world leader in football heritage, innovation, and the broader sports economy. Guests included key stakeholders from the policy, business, cultural, and sporting industries, as well as representatives from World Cup host cities and FIFA organizers.

Paraguay v Japan
A restless match between both countries. Commentators seemed a wee bit restless as to who will be left on the field as the second half wanned.
The match bled into the first penalty shoot-out in this year's Cup shortly after having added 15-minutes to the nil-nil game.
Only did tension begin to grow out of the modest drama. (Or, rather, no drama?)
Paraguay wins by penalty kicks of 05 of Japan's 03.
Had another 15 minutes of play been added to the game would the outcome be different...? Both teams seemed to have played without a powerful tact. I can't judge based on a minute-to-minute game play.
Final scores are:
Paraguay 0(5) v Japan 0(3)
Paraguay will advance to the next knock-out round either with Spain or Portugal. The outcome will be told after this afternoon's match between the two Iberian Peninsula neighbors…
