World Blood Donor Day is celebrated on 14 June every year. It is an opportunity to express gratitude to those who donate their blood in order to save lives, without expecting anything in return.
Millions of people owe their lives to people they will never meet – people who donate their blood freely and without any reward.

Hoy es el día internacional de homenaje al donante de sangre. En Galicia, es el Centro de Transfusión de Galicia, quien desde 1993 se encarga de surtir de este preciado elemento a todos los hospitales de la región. En el autobús puede leerse "Comparte Salud. Dona sangre".
Today is the International Day for Blood Donors. In Galicia, it's the Centro de Transfusión de Galicia (Transfusion Center of Galicia), who's responsible for the supplying of this vital element to all the hospitals of the region, since 1993. In the bus can be read (in Galician): "Share health. Give blood."
In the spirit of World Blood Donor day, The Modern School ECNCR is organising blood donation camps on 27th July and 3rd August 2019. We request you to be there for someone in need. Blood is what connects us all, after-all. Donate blood, save life.

Blood Donor Day is celebrated to raise awareness of the need for safe blood and blood products and to thank blood donors for their life-saving gifts of blood.
Do’s & Don’ts for Blood Donation
1. Take heavy meal before donating blood.
2. Weight should not be less than 45 kgs.
3. The hemoglobin of the donor should not be less than 12.
4. Get a good night’s sleep before donation.
5. Do not consume alcohol in the last 24 hrs before donation.
6. Stay hydrated post donation.
Every few seconds, someone, somewhere, needs safe blood.
Donate blood and save lives around the globe.
The theme for Blood Donor Day 2019 is "Blood donation and universal access to safe blood transfusion" to achieve universal health coverage.

En el Día Mundial del Donante de Sangre, y como parte del espíritu de servicio - lema de nuestra celebración de #IndependenceDay- la embajada🇺🇸 realizó una campaña de donación🙌 entre funcionarios, recolectando💪 aproximadamente 14 litros. Esta será almacenada en el banco de sangre de la Clínica Alemana de Santiago🏥, que forma parte de la Red de Apoyo a Bancos de Sangre de Chile.
