Taken in October 2020 on a K&F Concept workshop. An exceptionally low tide at New Brighton of 0.6m meant we could make the mile or so walk out to the wreck of the SS Denham.
We were blessed with superb conditions with some wonderful cloud cover with breaks in between. As the light faded we turned our attention to the wind farm in Liverpool Bay. Thoroughly enjoyable and I think we all managed to forget about Covid for a few hours.
The first railway line in Tasmania was established between Launceston and Deloraine in 1868. Quickly the network grew and so did the railway workshops in Launceston. But within a century passenger rail ended in Tasmania and these workshops closed. This series will tell that story.

Today i finished my Workshop. For this build i was going through a lot of boxes with old Lego and found some interesting pieces to use. I put a lot of work in all the details and i hope it shows!
We walk past the rear of the old railway workshop buildings. One of the tracks is still in place. This is all now part of the museum complex at Inveresk.
The Setup: Setting up a scene for a Halloween photo. Presenting the "Workshop of Horrors - where creepy is created". ♥
I took this slide in February 1977 and restored it and then changed the image and then turned it into a monochrome.
I'm fairly sure that's a Mercedes 1418 in front and it's a Scania 111 to the right nodding at us.
Both the workshop and the car park next to it have long been replaced by housing.
@ Weir Farm National Historic Site. Wilton, Connecticut
Weir Farm National Historic Site is located in Ridgefield and Wilton, Connecticut. It commemorates the life and work of American impressionist painter J. Alden Weir and other artists who stayed at the site or lived there, to include Childe Hassam, Albert Pinkham Ryder, John Singer Sargent, and John Twachtman.
Weir Farm is one of two sites in the National Park Service devoted to the visual arts. Both sites maintain ongoing artist-in-residence programs; to date, the Weir Farm Art Center (formerly the Weir Farm Trust) has hosted more than 150 artists for monthlong stays at the site.
Weir Farm also runs an ongoing "Take Part in Art" program, under which visitors can create their own works on site.
Weir Farm will be recognized on the 52nd quarter in 2020 as part of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program.

At least I know where to go if I need to borrow a chisel...
I went on a workshop to Dean Mason's "Windows on Wildlife" down in Wimborne, Dorset.
He operates under a DEFRA license and so far this year has been able to introduce over 40 harvest mice into the wild.
If you are looking for a workshop where the owner cares for his mice, then this is it!
