The common english name of Bombus hypnorum is the Tree Bee, it's a recent colonist to the UK from France and has been nicknamed 'Le Bee'. The combination of ginger thorax and black and white halved abdomen are instantly recognisable. The first record in Britain was as recently as 2001 in nearby West Wellow in Hampshire.

The oval parts next to him are lily pads that weren't showing up in the other pics due to the darkness of both glasses.
There's been a lot of interest in this piece lately, so I thought I'd show where I'm at with it currently. About 200 hours so far, a little more than 50% finished.
