(Days in a haunted house, with echoes of my hauted childhood).
P.S. Still busy days, still busy life...but still breathing, still dreaming, still healing & still living.
Took the Panasonic G6 and 14-140 lens out for a walk. This is a test of the OIS at the long end. A bit of blur, but not bad for 1/8 second at 280mm equivalent!
The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.

Another beautiful tarn, further up the track from Moss Eccles Tarn, with a backdrop of Lakeland fells in the distance.

Tribute to all women who modestly and anonymously make the world a more beautiful world with their insight and wisdom.
Apparently, Anhinga is from a Brazilian Indigenous language meaning "devil bird". I always thought of them as the wise men of the waters though.

A very wintery looking scene at Wise Een Tarn with the Langdales providing a familiar yet alpine looking backdrop.

Wise Een Tarn, Sawrey, in the English Lake District. Local Sawrey author Beatrix Potter regularly set up her easel here to paint the hills and backgrounds to her animal pictures for her books.
How better to end my COtoWA series than with a nice sunset? And with every conclusion of the day you should be a little bit wiser; so here's a good quote:

Thanks everyone!
Toffee licks his lips, not in anticipation of what he might catch at the
bird table, but after his lunch.
I don't think he has ever caught a bird in his life and wisely has never shown any interest in them as he knows they can fly and he can't.
Made it to day 13 before sharing a photo of Toffee, last year it was day 11. But what's the point of having a cat unless it features in your photo a day project?

A squirrel came from behind and grabbed the owlets tale feathers. It caught the owlet by surprise and it fell down a few branches catching itself. Later it worked its way up again. Mom slept through the whole event.

Common Gallinules are ubiquitous everywhere there is fresh water in these parts.
For the most part, they don't make very interesting subjects photography wise. But now and then they have some issues that need settling.
These two guys went at it repeatedly for several minutes.
Not sure what got settled, but after a while, they both stopped their bickering and went back to what gallinules do; swimming around and eating pretty much whatever gets in their way.
