The Wired festival brings upfront music, audiovisual art, new media and live cinema together in the shape of a mini-festival. Wired is about experiencing art in a very easy accesible way and in a natural atmosphere.
The first edition of the Wired festival took place last July at De Besturing in The Hague featuring live music from Aux Raus, Adolf Butler, The Wooden Constructions, The Moi Non Plus, Gameboys A Gogo, Klopje Popje The Routines and Organisms. Next to the music program we invited the following artists to create an Interactive Playground of visual art installations: Yacine Sebti, Mike Rijnierse, Bas de Boer, Marcus Graf, Jessica de Boer, Gosse de Kort and Eelco de Vries.
Saturday December 19th will bring us the second special winter edition of Wired namely Winter Wired '09. We've picked BINK 36 as venue for the festival as it offers huge area's at an unique industrial location: the former KPN building in De Binckhorst (The Hague). The Winter Wired '09 festival will feature more art genres than before with live cinema and fashion being integrated in the program.
Winter Wired '09 is supported by VSB Fonds and Gemeente Den Haag.
More photo's of Auschwitz here
Auschwitz-Birkenau was the largest of Nazi Germany's concentration camps. Located in German-occupied southern Poland, it took its name from the nearby town of Oświęcim (Auschwitz in German), situated about 50 kilometers west of Kraków and 286 kilometers from Warsaw. Following the German occupation of Poland in September 1939, Oświęcim was incorporated into Germany and renamed Auschwitz. The word Birkenau means 'Birch tree' of which there are many surrounding the Birkenau area of the complex.
The complex consisted of three main camps: Auschwitz I, the administrative center; Auschwitz II (Birkenau), an extermination camp or Vernichtungslager; and Auschwitz III (Monowitz), a work camp.
The camp commandant, Rudolf Höss, testified at the Nuremberg Trials that up to 2.5 million people had died at Auschwitz. The Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum revised this figure in 1990, and new calculations now place the figure at 1.1–1.6 million, about 90 percent of them Jews from almost every country in Europe. Most of the dead were killed in gas chambers using Zyklon B; other deaths were caused by systematic starvation, forced labor, lack of disease control, individual executions, and so-called medical experiments.

We've all seen sneakers hanging from utility wires, but it's not every day - especially during the summer - that you see ice skates like these spotted hanging from utility wires on Greenwood Ave. in Wakefield, Massachusetts.

Hmm..... Can't leave that much "blank" fabric staring at ya! What to do with extra wire? So I twist and wing it around.
I used to doodle on paper. Then I found some telephone wire, and made some stuff. This was a recent attempt a something other than a person.
