A sand path that leads directly to the baie of Pampelonne in Ramatuelle, a panoramic view of the mediterranean and its white sandy beaches.
This area is truly one of the most charming places along the French Riviera. It is very peaceful in winter !

After days of sun and rising temperatures, the ice on Lake Huron has broken up and there is open water up to the shoreline in places.

After a week long of sun and higher temperatures, a lot of the snow and ice had melted along St, Christopher's Beach. Now there is open water to the shoreline.

Baie Saint-Paul, Qc. Par un glacial après-midi, au bord de la mer, ces 2 personnes semblaient se confier un lourd secret! Indifférentes au froid et au vent, elles recherchaient visiblement un refuge pour épancher leur chagrin!

After temperatures went up and some rain, the ice started to break up. Waves pushed the ice further in toward the beach creating a build up of ice shards in piles near the shoreline.

It was such a beautiful and magical sight when I arrived at Cherry Beach dog in tow in -25 degree weather. In the distance I could see a pair of swans swimming in the icy misty water but I couldn't make it that far. We were frozen after ten minutes!
Winter Beach...
In February we made our way to Jack Darling Memorial Park and spent a few hours braving the cold to get some shots.
When we got to the lake the wind was fierce from the west and the chill bit deep into our cheeks. even making our eyes sting and water up.
the beach had a few chunks of ice on it but mostly it just looked cold and deserted.

An hour or two before the arrival of Winter Storm Elliott, the winds off the Atlantic Ocean were so strong that the beach was covered with seafoam. [oceanservice.noaa.gov/facts/seafoam.html.]
It was hard to tell the whitecaps from the clouds. Within a few hours, the temperature dropped more than 40 degrees. I only regret that because of the Christmas holiday I couldn't come back to see the fantastic ice formations. It's pretty much been a snowless winter here in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. So much for the need for a snow fence...
