The majestic north transept window, 67 feet by 24 feet (20.4 m × 7.3 m), is one of the largest stained glass windows in the world. The upper portion depicts the Coronation of Mary after her Assumption. The lower portion is a depiction of the Ecumenical Council of Ephesus in 431 AD that proclaimed Mary the 'Theotokos' (God-Bearer or Mother of God). Below are saints noted for their Marian studies and devotion. The window was created by Mayer and Company (Mayer'sche Hofkunstanstalt) of Munich, Germany, and installed in 1911.
A brochure of the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, Kentucky USA mentions that the sanctuary is adorned with 82 windows made in Munich by Mayer Studios. The windows of the south nave depict the events in the life of the child Jesus; on the north, the adult Jesus. Above, the clerestory windows depict the apostles, saints, and early doctors of the Church.

St Peter's church in Wymondham is an attractive largely 14th/15th century building with several interesting features, best of which are a couple of unusually carved capitals in the nave. The is also a fine 13th century knight's effigy in the transept and rich Victorian glass in the chancel
The church is normally kept open and welcoming to visitors. For more information see the excellent Leicestershire Churches Site below:-
