Dawn on the Watkin Path on Mount Snowdon in the Snowdonia National Park looking down on the valley in Nant Gwynant and the added bonus of mist filling the valley. I have never felt cold like that in the Summer before but it gave way to a stunning days hiking up to bedgelert and around the Ogwyn Valley later on in the day.
I’ve been learning a lot about osprey lately and the more I learn the more thankful I am not to be a fish.

A vertical, eye-level photograph captures the raw, rugged beauty of the hidden waterfall pool nestled within the historic Coniston Coppermines valley in the Lake District, Cumbria.
The composition is dominated by a sheer, craggy rock face constructed of dark, fractured slate and volcanic stone, typical of the Furness Fells. Streaks of vibrant green moss, hardy ferns, and low mountain shrubs grip tightly to the damp crevices. Down the center of the dark rock, a slender but forceful waterfall cascades diagonally from the top left, churning into a brilliant white froth as it slices through the gorge.
At the base of the falls lies a remarkably clear plunge pool. The water shifts beautifully from a deep, shimmering emerald green to a translucent turquoise, revealing an intricate bed of smooth, multi-colored river pebbles and submerged rocks below. The sky above is a crisp, bright blue, accented by soft, drifting white clouds that frame the dramatic, sunlit V-shaped opening of the ravine.

Lots going on down by the riverside.... this is not a new place to bathe... people have been coming here for years.
With on air temperature of 2°C and the River Thames at 4°C, it's little wonder these wild swimmers developed a lobster-pink hue.
Moel Cynghorion (the Hill of the Councillors) is a mountain in Snowdonia, North Wales. It lies three kilometers north-west of Snowdon, and forms part of the Moel Eilio Horseshoe walk. The summit is situated on a wide plateau, marked by a pile of stones. The southern slopes are gentle, while the northern aspect is precipitous. The summit has close views of Clogwyn Du'r Arddu and Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa). Views from the summit can extend as far as Holyhead in Anglesey to nearby towns and villages in Gwynedd such as Caernarfon, Llanrug and Llanberis. On a clear day the Wicklow Mountains in Ireland can be seen across the Irish Sea, at a distance of approximately 130 kilometers.
Beyond Moel Cynghorion is Foel-goch and is also a mountain in Snowdonia, and forms part of the Glyderau range, in Gwynedd. It lies in between Y Garn and Mynydd Perfedd. Good views of Dyffryn Ogwen are seen with Pen yr Ole Wen, Carnedd Dafydd, Tryfan, Glyder Fawr and Elidir Fawr close by. Its height is 831 metres.
The deep blue lake in the foreground is Llyn Du'r Arddu which is set under a 100m steep rock wall, famous in climbing and traditional folklore. With a beach on the nearside and deeper waters at far rock wall. Llyn Du'r Arddu is situated nearby to the archaeological site Clogwyn Coch Copper Mines and Clogwyn railway station.

I was lucky enough to be able to photograph this very brave group of women last month. They are still wild swimming even though there is snow on the tops of the mountains in this area in the north west of Scotland. I am going back to photograph them again in the spring.
I went seaswimming last sunday. The air temperarure was -8 degrees. There was about 2 cm ice on the surface.

A shot of the iconic Stac Pollaidh taken during golden hour. This was one of the places I wildcamped during a 10 day trip around the NC500 in an old transit van that didn't have a reverse gear. It was an amazing view to wake up to, and an even more amaazing place to go wildswimming the next morning!
This could be for an after shave commercial!

Well, I don't know if they were wild women, but stood high up above them, the wind was pretty cold and I was glad I had a good coat and hat on. OK, they had black bobble hats but I'm sure it was pretty chilly under that waterfall. Three Shires Head. Apologies if some people were expecting more from my picture.

Morning swimmers watching the starlings. Sometimes we are treated to really spectacular display by the starlings in the morning. They fly about right above the water and then fly inland on mass so after they started flocking together.

This is always an adventure to get to. Some very steep climbing. Never seen anyone else there.......
With Phoebe at home revising Chemistry for her next "A" level exam, better her than me and Abbey fancying a "Wild Swim" we headed down to Sandwich and the private bay at The Royal St Georges Golf Course. The water was ("COLD"!) as we pretended to be dolphins to the amusement of those around us, whilst there I took a few snaps of the Lizard Orchids too. There were some really vivid colour examples this year, nearly all a little stunted and the grass around them was crisp and brown all giving a rather wonderful tone to the vista. We forgot the towels so the car seats are very soggy!!!
