Between lakes Tay and Dan in the Wicklow mountains

Coming down from the Wicklow Mountains, lovely green peaceful valley.

Taken along the Wicklow Gap near Glendalough, Wicklow, Ireland. The winter sun was beginning to go down throwing a shadow on the hillside to the right and leaving the valley below in poor light. I used a Lee .3 Graduated ND Filter to balance the sky.

Hi all hope your all keeping well ...I took this at a recent photo meet up about insects but who can resist photographing lovely wicklows landscape 💚

There is a place along the Dargle River where the trees over hang the water. As winter approaches there is a short window when the sun shines though the leaves on the trees throwing and orangey-red hue onto the surrounding rocks and and river.

Glendalough is a glen and village in Ireland at its downstream end located in the Wicklow Mountains. The village is on the site of a former monastery in County Wicklow. It was established in the 6th century by Saint Kevin, a hermit priest, and destroyed by the English in 1398.

 

Glendalough est un glen et un village d'Irlande à son extrémité aval situés dans les montagnes de Wicklow. Le village se trouve sur le site d'un ancien monastère dans le comté de Wicklow. Il a été établi au VIᵉ siècle par saint Kevin, un prêtre ermite, et détruit par les Anglais en 1398.
