Note from the designer himself:
"The rabbit, with its beady eyes and its waistcoat must certainly be considered to be the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland."
Like the Owl (see first comment box) it has a foot, which enables the top-heavy figure to stand. Both origami animals have the same "Owl-base" ( see second comment box).

Fran has to be one of the most beautiful and most loved bunny wunnys in the world! She loves cuddles AND eating most of my plants in the garden but I love her so I’m happy to share!
There is a place, like no place on earth. A land full of wonder, mystery, and danger. Some say, to survive it, you need to be as mad as a hatter. Which, luckily, I am........

Alice exhibits symptoms of paranoid schizophrenia, and the Mad Hatter those of both Bipolar disorder and PTSD, Alice in Wonderland is a story so infused with mental illness that both of these characters actually had syndromes named after them...and we thought they were just bedtime stories read by loving parents....

Happy Teddy Bear Tuesday
Oh dear, Oh dear she's late, she's late.
Could be leaves on the line.
Or even a replacement pony and trap sevice.

"If you are curious, you'll find the puzzles around you. If you are determined, you will solve them." - Ernő Rubik (Inventor of the Rubik's Cube).
The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" for the 14th of August is "squares". It is funny how things just happen sometimes - call it fate, call it a happy happenstance. When the theme for this week was announced, I was a little perplexed as to what I might use. I was looking at the discussion thread on the train after I left a very large antiques and collectables fair, with a few choice items acquired by me. I was only travelling one stop, as I had decided to visit the Doll Hospital, an old Melburnian institution that is finally closing its doors for good after many years. I had never been there before, but decided to visit it, so at least I could say I had seen it before it shut forever. It was getting close to the day it finally closed its doors for good, and there was a rather sad feeling of the end of an era about the dolls and other toys on the shelves that they were selling, that no-one had bought. As I was perusing, I chanced across a rather lovely old latched box with a pretty picture by the New Zealand born British children's illustrator, Harry Rountree on the top. Intrigued, I unfastened the latch and opened the box. Inside, I found a full and complete Edwardian era (circa 1903 - 1905) block puzzle with six illustrations by Harry Rountree, on the six sides of each block. Every illustration features a dwarf or gnome along with their animal friends. In this case, his friends are two white rabbits, one of whom is snuggled onto his shoulder, sleeping peacefully. The puzzle was not only complete, but in remarkably good condition, with only light ware from play. I love Harry Rountree's work, and as a collector of antiquarian children's books, I have several of his amongst my volumes. When I arrived home with the block puzzle added to my acquisitions for the day, I knew what my choice for this week's theme was to be. In order to meet the theme's requirement, as it is about two dimensional squares and not three dimensional cubes, I have deliberately photographed the puzzle from directly above, thus presenting that two dimensional quality of a square. I hope you like my choice for this week's theme, and that it makes you smile!
Harry Rountree (1878 – 1950) was a prolific illustrator, mainly for children. The son of a banker, Rountree was born in Auckland, New Zealand. He was educated at the city’s Queen’s College, and began work as a lithographer in a commercial studio, designing labels for jam jars and other products. In 1901, aged 23, he migrated to London and studied under Percival Gaskell at the Regent Street Polytechnic. The style he evolved there developed fin-de-siècle elements for comic ends, and his use of blocks of flat colour surrounded by thick jagged lines was found suitable for both small-scale illustrations and for large posters. He began to contribute to such periodicals as the Humorist, Playtime, and Punch. From 1903 he collaborated with the editor of Little Folks on a very successful series of books. Specialising in animals, he illustrated several classics of children’s literature, including Uncle Remus and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. During the First World War Rountree served as a Captain in the Royal Engineers. His late work included contributions to the Radio Times during the 1930s. A member of the Savage Club, a leading Bohemian Gentleman’s Club, and one-time President of the London Sketch Club, Rountree was late largely forgotten and died in relative obscurity and poverty in St Ives, Cornwall in 1950.

Whether your subject is far in the distance or close, fast or slow, you can land the shot. On FX-format cameras, 500mm brings distant birds, wildlife, athletes, performers, landmarks and more into tight focus.
Frozen day sinking slowly in Bosphorus. Fishes and fishermen were all in their fixed position. Captain Nemo asked me where's the Galata tower. Over there, I said, just follow the white rabbit.
The challenge theme for the June issue of Artists Down Under magazine was "Rabbits". Is it an indictment on me that my mind went immediately to White Rabbit, one of my favourite breweries?
And of course, one needed quite a few bottlecaps for a decent photo, one has to suffer for ones art, right?
Anyway, this photo, and two of my other art pieces, and my regular Photoshop article can be found here.

**🎥 Ultra-detailed cinematic prompt:**
Two rabbits, one with deep black fur shimmering with subtle chocolate-brown undertones, the other with pristine ivory-white fur, face each other inside a rustic barn bathed in soft, golden late-afternoon light. Their noses gently touch, capturing a suspended moment that feels intimate, tender, and almost poetic.
They rest on a bed of dry straw rendered with exquisite realism, each strand visible, slightly curved and imperfect. Surrounding them are several hand-painted eggs in rich, saturated tones — deep blue, carmine red, moss green, aged gold — adorned with delicate floral patterns and subtle ornamental details reminiscent of traditional craftsmanship.
Light pours in from an opening on the left, creating a masterful chiaroscuro effect. Soft shadows and warm highlights sculpt the scene, enhancing depth and texture. The rabbits’ fur is rendered with extreme precision, each hair catching the light, revealing softness, volume, and lifelike detail.
The background remains softly blurred with natural bokeh, hinting at aged wooden textures of the barn in warm brown, ochre, and golden tones, reinforcing a timeless and cozy atmosphere.
**Visual style:**
cinematic hyperrealism, 8K rendering, very shallow depth of field, natural volumetric lighting, ultra-detailed textures, warm color grading, inspired by classical painting and high-end wildlife photography.
**Mood:**
calm, tender, almost sacred, evoking spring, renewal, and a gentle emotional connection.

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
Tell 'em a hookah-smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice
When she was just small
When the men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know
When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's off with her head
Remember what the dormouse said
Feed your head
