A sub-species of our UK Pied Wagtails, the White Wagtail can be identified by it's slate-grey back. The adult Pied Wagtail has a darker black back.

I have seen perhaps 4-5 during the 2020/21 owl season but, owing to their elusiveness, have been unable to photograph one in its winter coat since 2019.
Our incorrectly named big hare can weight as much as 9.5 pounds at maximum and has powerful hare back legs. Their bouncing running style with stiff upright posture makes them great to watch in motion, especially in winter white.
a white fronted bee eater (merops albicollis).
this kind of bee eater con be found in south africa all the year around.it's a lovely bird and in some areas quite common.
in photography the hardest part is in this case to get the details of the white front.the whites are very easy to be "fired" especially in canon.take care on exposure!

It was exciting to capture the first marbled white of the year near home last night - such an elegant butterfly and my favourite after the common blue I think.
Still madly report writing and preparing for the end of term here...short walks out with the camera have been keeping me sane, so please excuse my posting and running this week :(
