Tautira beach is a volcanic beach on Tahiti Iti causing the black sand.

This is where I was standing when I took the foggy image of trees, "In a Daze", which I posted several days ago. It's the steps leading down to the forest near our house. You can see there is still snow on the trees at the left, and slushy snow down the steps and beside them.
I took several shots, then decided to try an ICM. I was happy that there was a person with a bright jacket at the bottom.

"Shine On You Crazy Diamond", was written as a tribute to Syd Barrett, one of the founders of Pink Floyd. He was also known as "The Crazy Diamond Syd". Barrett was a very creative musician and is considered one of the rock icons, with a strong influence on many artists, very especially to David Bowie. Syd Barrett is a key piece to understand the evolution of rock in the 70s.. Excessive drug use, especially LSD, caused him serious mental health problems. Syd Barrett died in 2006 at the age of 60. The Universal is a science fiction song written as a tribute to two films by film director Stanley Kubrick. In the video, the Blur members wear outfits similar to Alex and his gang of thugs, the protagonists of the movie "A Clockwork Orange." The image used for the cover of the single alluded to what is possibly Kubrick's best film: "2001: To Space Odyssey."

This is one of the old salt marshes on the east side of the Dutch Wadden island of Ameland.
Here the sea has free acces during high tide to the land that was conquered from hundred of years ago in a primitive way.
The salt marsh is cleaved with creeks that are very deep due to the abrasive effect of the sea water being drawn in and out.
The grazing takes place by flocks of sheep.
The wind on the Wadden island of Ameland and the other Wadden islands has a predominant force of 4 Beaufort, but during heavy north-western storms the wind can reach wind force 12!
During these severe storms, a ferocious surf engulfs this salt marsh........

Okay, I know that's not a hard one :) He was fishing there and I had no idea that there might be fish in this marsh.
I think most of you know this place by now, as I love to go there, and had the opportunity to stop for a few minutes last week. It was a cloudy day but that's how I like it.
