When taking this photo the weather was really strange, it rained, snowed and then the sun would come out, you could feel the temperature fluctuating, made for a nice autumn/fall photo.

When is nesting season and where do geese typically nest? Nesting season begins early March and can continue through late May. Nesting spots can be next to a pond or a half mile away. Geese typically like to nest where approaching predators can be easily spotted.

"Shine On You Crazy Diamond", was written as a tribute to Syd Barrett, one of the founders of Pink Floyd. He was also known as "The Crazy Diamond Syd". Barrett was a very creative musician and is considered one of the rock icons, with a strong influence on many artists, very especially to David Bowie. Syd Barrett is a key piece to understand the evolution of rock in the 70s.. Excessive drug use, especially LSD, caused him serious mental health problems. Syd Barrett died in 2006 at the age of 60. When you face stormy emotional weather in life, and your happy takes a detour into the disheartened, having a friend who is there, a friend who says, “I’ve got you” even without ever having to speak those words, but says it through their mere presence, then you have a priceless blessing.
My sweet guy, Romeo, here...he can quietly walk up behind me, much like my real life equine and canine loves always have, and with his sensitive, intuitive strength, he plants his hooves firmly in the grass beside me, and says, “I’ve got you, and I’m not going anywhere.”

When my oldest daughter was a year old, my mom bought these two feet tall Minnie and Mickey motorized dolls to go in front of her fireplace at Christmas. My daughter was fascinated by them as they moved back and forth and used to clap her hands and jump up and down while she watched them.
A few years later when we moved away from my parents' home, my mom gave me Mickey and Minnie to display in my home for the kids. Now my youngest gets to get excited about them every year- and they are a conversation piece as well for all my Christmastime guests- I mean, who can resist Mickey and Minnie all gussied up for the holidays?
