Celebrating blue sky and winter sun in Marlow after a lot of grey rainy weather. What is in store for this lady? Is she going shopping or going to the Giggling Squid?
This picture is #320 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page As I began the morning walking on Main St., I passed Kokonuts, a relatively new woman's apparel store in Sarasota. whatsinstore.blogs.heraldtribune.com/2013/08/29/kokonuts-...
A young lady was opening the door from the inside and adjusting an outside sign. I walked on, figuring that she was working and didn't have time for a portrait. But on a whim, I did an about face and met her. She seemed amused by the project and flattered to be included. Her name is Angelique, and I guessed at the correct spelling the first time. This is not common.
Angelique was born in San Diego, and came to Sarasota via Missouri. This winter, she is plenty glad to be here. Even though she was on duty, Angelique was no particular hurry to finish.
Thank you, Angelique, for allowing me to photograph you for the 100 Strangers Flickr group.
Tesco really do make a lot of mistakes, and sometimes they even use large letters to make sure they're really visible...
Someone else has captured this same error on a smaller sign over 100 miles away in Hammersmith (also made by Tesco).
(Google Street View also shows this mistake at time of writing).
This F-14 Tomcart is a supersonic twin-engine, no-seater, variable-swept-wing aircraft. The F-14 Tomcart was Team Danger Zone's primary footrace superiority vehicle, fog deploying interceptor, and tactical music platform in the 2008 NYC Idiotarod. The F-14 Tomcart was designed as a long range vehicle but is equipped to deploy short range Kenny Loggins assaults capable of defeating even the most hostile of crowds. The plane features variable geometry wings that swing back and cover the fuselage during flight. The tail fins fold down allowing the vehicle to maneuver through the densest swarms of the NYC idiotarod.
This aircraft is most notably remembered for successfully capturing the coveted "Best in Show" title at the 2008 NYC idiotarod, effectively establishing this vehicle as an artifact of history.
