People are still wearing masks and following the social distancing protocol in the park. But it is more important to keep healthy by exercising.. and getting some fresh air.

I was looking forward to walking through this woodland all year. This is the River Teign, set in the unspoilt ancient woodlands of Fingle Woods in Devon.
The woods looked incredible and fantastic in the peak of Autumness!
To enhance the natural spectacular colours of the foliage I used a linear polariser and set my white balance to cloudy.
It was so tranquil and calming with no better place to be listening to the flow of the river and a faint birdsong. When you have time to sit peacefully away from the camera, allowing yourself to be immersed in the whole experience, you become totally focused on that moment.
I am familiar with this river view so it turned out to be a very enjoyable exercise of searching for attractive and interesting compositions. The air was so still with just the occasional slight breeze blowing clusters of multicoloured leaves off the branches into the river which randomly flowed passed me. This added another element to consider whilst trying to capture the essence of autumn and create evocative images. I wanted to show an illusion of water movement so I experimented with different exposures to make artistic effects. It was fun photographing these occasional spatters of floating leaves resulting in static leaf dots, dashes and long brown, yellow and amber streaks giving a sense of animation.
I am very pleased with the series of images from that morning with simple minimal editing and many not cropped. But most of all , enjoying the fresh air of the outdoors during the wonderful season.
I hope you like this image as much I as loved making it 🍂😀🍀
In these uncertain times it can be a struggle to understand how you can go on, how to look after your own well-being as well as those around you. There is always hope.

I met this little group in my park the other day. They are part of Wheels for Wellbeing (wheelsforwellbeing.org.uk/) that provides disabled people with mobility; the gent on the left had had a stroke. The young lady allowed me to have a go on hers & it was wonderful! I quite fancy one!

Shun Ping Street Murals
Shun Ping Street is located near the old fire station. Its name suggests good luck and wellbeing. Along the street, there are two murals depicting the deity-thanking ceremony, a traditional cultural event in Sha Tau Kok. To date, Sha Tau Kok residents still celebrate the Tin Hau Festival annually, and a large-scale ceremony takes place every 10 years. In the murals, you can see one of the most distinctive celebrations — the dragon boat dance performed by Hoklo women.
Ah, I have to face reality, this is winter in Toronto, Canada and it is extremely cold! "Humber Bay Park is a waterfront park located in Etobicoke, part of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The park consists of two landspits situated at the mouth of Mimico Creek." Wikipedia

This was taken on a photoshoot of mine a while back, the 1st one I've done of a new baby but was enjoyable and a great learning experience.

She closed her eyes and took a few deep breathes. The stress dissipated and her face relaxed within seconds. Her most beautiful face. Often people are not aware of their own glow, their own natural beauty. We should remind them more often of it. Especially if we recognise that unhappiness tries to hide it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ In times of isolation, in times of absence of intimacy, please take care of yourself in all ways you need it. Loosing a physical connection can have a negative impact on your mental wellbeing as hugging or even a simple touch can lower anxiety and boost your immune system (healthy huggers assumed). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I'm definitely going to hug the shit out of people when this is all over. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #connection #releasestress #isolation #takecare #touch #embraceyourself | instagr.am/p/B-ufo8YnzbC/ | www.zielecki.com

“Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.” – Universal Declaration of Human Rights, article 25, par. 1 -
Unfortunately too many do not have this right and that should change.

The learning center SQUARE is an extension of the campus of the University of St. Gallen (HSG). The university calls the new building an " experimental field " for new formats of learning and teaching, which, when mature, will be integrated into the " normal " HSG education.
Sou Fujimoto Architects, based in Tokyo and Paris, won the architectural competition with its "Open Grid" project. The jury attested it "an excellent interpretation and implementation of the didactic concept". Thanks to numerous major sponsors and donations from HSG alumni, operations could begin in the spring semester of 2022, as planned in the ambitious timetable, after a short construction period of around two years.
The building consists of several cubes arranged in a grid pattern, which range in height from 3.5 to 18.5 meters. Inside, modular building elements that are acoustically and visually connected to each other allow for adaptation to specific didactic needs such as panel discussions, lectures or exams. The new learning center creates space for 500 to 700 learning and workstations.

New to Arriva London North
A chance encounter with what turned out to be a historically-significant bus. This was the first production Plaxton President, which appeared in London as a demonstrator in 1998 carrying S201 JUA plates but was never licensed as such and only ran on trade plates. That registration was then issued to the first Alexander-bodied example and this one eventually entered service with Arriva as V601 LGC. It was open-topped for the Original London tour, then sold in 2016 to Bathroom Takeaway of Manchester for use as a hospitality unit. They donated it to Buses4Homeless, who intended to use it as a 'wellbeing bus' on a static site in London from the summer of 2019, so I don't know why it was being towed through Buckingham three years later still in Bathroom Takeaway livery.
UPDATE August 2024: this is now operated by Ultimate Mobile Bars of Buckingham so was presumably being delivered there.

We aim to encourage people to take steps to improve their wellbeing in their daily lives. When this isn’t enough, the University of Southampton’s Biomedical Engineering programme is training future leaders in how technology can be used to support better health and wellness. Together we can change lives.
Wellbeing Beacon is sponsored by University of Southampton‘s Digital Health and Biomedical Engineering research Group, Electronics and Computer Science.
Over the summer of 2024, Southampton Hospitals Charity will be lighting up the South with a large-scale public art event that promises to captivate your senses and ignite your imagination.
There will be 40 8ft magnificent lighthouse sculptures on display through the streets and public spaces of Southampton and Cowes, each one a unique masterpiece designed by artists both local and well renowned, plus 40 mini lighthouses designed by local education groups, creating a family-friendly trail of discovery for visitors and residents to enjoy and explore.
The lighthouses will then be displayed together for a Farewell event in September 2024 which will be a chance to see all lighthouses gathered in one place, a truly unique sight. The sculptures will then go into auction to raise vital funds for Southampton Children’s Hospital.

With thanks to Helen. The funniest thing about this shoot. My wife was perched under Helen trying to make sure she felt safe and then a wave came and got her! And she was laughing like an idiot. Earlier, Helen had been right by the water's edge and also got 'got' by a wave, and I also got 'got'. So, we all got 'got'. :) What a lovely day in amongst the middle of this madness.

An active hunter, the female Nursery Web spider spins web to protect her young as they are about to hatch to protect them until they are able to venture out alone. She will carry the egg-sac in her fangs before they hatch.
They are a widespread species and are a relatively large spider, (1.5cm long body), closely related to the rarer Raft spider; they can be spotted sunbathing in brambles or on nettles.
