I think it's fair to say that the true measure of a society is on how it treats it's most vulnerable people.

Bearing in mind that any one of us can become disabled at any time through no fault of our own. The societal safety net that we all pay into during our lives is there for that very reason. To care for us if or when we are unable to care for ourselves.

We therefore owe it to ourselves to fight these welfare cuts, to put pressure on our MPs to vote against the changes. Don't just think about it, do it, let them know because one day it could be you that needs to depend upon them for survival.

Take care.

And he's not happy at the site of homeless umbrellas living on the streets of Melbourne.

Y vamos a seguir cantando,

no es demasiado tarde para ti."

The former Miners' Welfare building at Methil, Fife, is now used as part of a Community Learning Centre although it appears that the snooker hall is still open. It was built in 1927.

The Vatican really took care of the homeless population in Rome. We stayed at a hotel just a stone throw away from Vatican City. Once after dark, there were tents set up along the perimeter of the city . It was quiet and peaceful with police patrolling the square. During the day I saw these sisters walking around the main street checking the welfare of some of these homeless people who were mostly well dressed and well taken care of. Empathy is definitely strong here.

Self isolation can be a lonely experience. Remember to check on the welfare of vulnerable friends during difficult times.

Who says landscape photography has to be reality when in miniature it can come from the imagination. From fairies at the bottom of your garden to 'the borrowers' we are obsessed with the fantasy of little people in a

full-sized world. My 'downsizing' project, using model railway figures, food and everyday objects, is merely an

extension of those thoughts.

Two models of Fife Council welfare buses based on the Mercedes Sprinter. The real vehicles have the 400mm longer rear overhang and super-high roof option so there is some modeller's licence here. Both vehicles are based on the CMNL diecast with new interiors and double-wheel rear axles. The open-door Sprinter was cobbled together from two models, one donating the doors, and the other having the holes cut into it. The interiors of both models are completely new and built from scratch except for the diecast instrument binnacles and driver seat. The logo on the side is based on the Forth Rail Bridge made into humans and was created from artwork supplied by the local authority. All other decals are homemade based on photographs.

No. 304 Westbourne Grove(once Archer Street) was the home of the Alice S. G. Brown Welfare Centre, founded in 1918 (also known as the Archer Street Infant Welfare Centre).

Alice was the wife of Sidney George Brown, an electrical engineer and inventor who with Alice founded the eponymous company S. G. Brown Ltd in 1910. The company was very successful and became Inter Alia one of the world’s largest manufacturers of naval gyrocompasses. They also branched out into audio equipment and are said to be the first to use the term “loudspeaker”. The Browns were based in the area, at 52 Kensington Park Road.

At the time Alice founded the centre, North Kensington was notorious for its high infant mortality. The centre later moved to the National Health Service which continued to use the building until 2005. It was subsequently converted to mixed commercial and residential use.

I actually enjoyed doing this round even though i'm eliminated! LOL! It was fun because I really support PETA and what they stand up for including Animal Cruelty. It was loads of fun and i hope ya'll like it.

P.S. Since i was eliminated i sorta bent the rules a bit.

This traffic signal box is a part of the Craigieburn Road Legacy Art trail.

As part of the Craigieburn Road Upgrade, Major Road Projects Victoria worked with local artists and the community to reimagine and reinvent public spaces through a signal box art trail.

Local artists were invited to contribute to a vibrant art trail featuring 30 traffic signal cabinets along Craigieburn Road. Each piece of public art tells the story of "What makes Craigieburn unique," serving as the main theme of the art installation. The artwork also celebrates sub-themes such as community, connection, travel, history, culture, diversity, environment, nature, and sustainability.
