Taken in Barnes's Grove, Buckinghamshire, a tree seems to be caught up with a sapling, almost handing it a large bunch of leaves. Strangely, this scene wasn't there the following week, the bunch of leaves mysteriously vanishing!

What is Flyday without a fly? Just boring old Friday I suppose!
Syrphid Flies are beneficial pollinators, often confused with bees and hornets. These beauties are completely harmless, and, if you look closely, their large round eyes and short antennae are quick indications that these are neither bees nor hornets, Also, unlike their look-a-likes, can hover whenever they feel inclined. They pollinate and lay eggs on our flowering plants, when their larvae hatch, they are voratious consumers of aphids. Let's hear it for our Syrphid buddies!

Some decisions weigh on your mind terribly, especially the life changing ones. Even after you think you've made the decision the weight is not lifted. Is it the right one? I think you've just got to go with what feels right and make the most of it.

I love creative photography. So when the weather turned poor recently it gave me the opportunity to get my vintage scales out and raid the vegetable rack.

The 7 Weigher job swings around the bend towards Empire Jct. with empty all-rail ore cars. When they finish loading later this afternoon, they will interchange the cut to CN at Partridge. The code line poles are rising to clear the connection track to Partridge just out of view to the right.
A classic looking Chinook cloud lies just above the horizon and appears to weigh heavily over the trees beyond.

It would probably be crazy to weigh peppers for a recipe but I loved the colours in the image. The green pepper is actually an ornament and the reason that the scale reads 0.5kg. I placed the scale on a mirror and used window light for illumination.

One of several cape buffalo grazing on grass at the conservancy.
Cape Buffalo are suspected to kill around 200 people every year. They typically will charge and gore their victims, and have been known to trample people as well. When you see Cape Buffalo roaming in Africa, they're usually not alone and an injured cape buffalo is even more dangerous and unpredictable than a healthy one. Weighing in at over 1500 lbs, even most lions don't dare bother hunting this aggressive beast unless the lions are in a huge pride.
The African buffalo or Cape buffalo (Syncerus caffer) is a large Sub-Saharan African bovine.
Syncerus caffer caffer, the Cape buffalo, is the typical subspecies, and the largest one, found in Southern and East Africa. S. c. nanus (African forest buffalo) is the smallest subspecies, common in forest areas of Central and West Africa, while S. c. brachyceros is in West Africa and S. c. aequinoctialis is in the savannas of East Africa.
The adult buffalo's horns are its characteristic feature: they have fused bases, forming a continuous bone shield across the top of the head referred to as a "boss".
If my previous post is Anubis, then this has to be Ammit, the guardian demon presiding over the weighing of the heart of the deceased with the feather of Ma'at, the goddess of truth. The feather of Ma'at symbolized the balance, and truthfulness needed to be present during one's lifetime.
If the heart was heavier than the feather of Ma'at, the deceased was deemed impure. Ammit would devour their heart, leaving the deceased without a soul. Ancient Egyptians believed the soul would become restless forever, dying a second death. Instead of living in Aaru, the soulless individual would be stuck in Duat. (Source: Wikipedia)

Thank you for your visit and your comments, they are greatly appreciated.
As she descended the winding staircase, the flickering torchlight cast eerie shadows upon her striking features. Her hair, a cascade of silver strands, gleamed like moonlight on water, while her skin, as dark as the deepest night, bore the weight of ancient wisdom.
In her hands, an Ankh, the key to life and death, glowed subtly, mimicking the rhythm of her heart. Not a weapon, but a promise. Authority hummed around her, an invisible crown heavier than any pharaoh's. She wasn't queen, not anymore. But tonight, she was judge, jury, and executioner - a goddess reclaiming her stolen power, one measured step at a time. In the depths of the tomb, life and death awaited her touch, and the scales of fate trembled.
