I was wondering about this as well, then I read this post. It must have an impact on the 'engineers' who work there having groups of buyouts with vesting periods and larger payouts. There must be some level of resentment (it's human nature). How does google manage this?

In some ways post - acquisition isn't, 'job-done'. It makes more sense to see the task through integration in the new company. It is still your baby and I'll bet anyone working on it would see it that way. At the same time It would make sense also to give yourself a cut-off date working for soft-co.

So if you make things that other want, did zenter purposefully make it's product to fill the gap in google office? If so it's a risky (ballsy) strategy to compete head to head with google if they have announced their intentions. What I want to know is what happened in the following 2 months?
Was zenter X times better than the internal google version?

Napier Centennial Gardens has a lovely bed of flowers. Following the Art Deco weekend on Feb 19-23 many of the flowerbeds are past their best but still beautiful. This flower may be an Echinacea (Purple Coneflower).

Orginally a quarry, the gardens although the look natural are completely man-made - including the waterfall. All the soil was shipped into the unused quarry and extensive piping, pumps water back up the cliff face. Another of PG's funded *web* startup babies @ YC have launched. Wufoo (Infinity Box Inc) build forms supplying tools to those who want to manage more complexity.
Good app, bad app
I've used this app and it solves a problem(s) and I can see where anyone who wants to build forms will see this app/apps as a boon.
But can we do better?
More conversation, less forms
Humans use conversation, interaction and less intrusive ways of interaction every day. Why is it that every time we converse with silicon we have to make allowences for the binary nature of computers?
Challenge
When are we going to harness the power of silicon to converse with humans in a more humane way, putting the onus on the silicon computation instead of people to do the hard work?
