(old shaft) by Walter Coffin,( some accounts state this mine was sunk 1812 but an OS map of 1829 shows no sign of this - see Set No.3 ) - this is, I think, a mistake by the English OS surveyors having trouble with their Welsh! - should be "Uchaf (Upper) whilst the "Isaph" (Lower) pit was down in the valley (see set No.3) - the row of houses at bottom of photo were built by him for his workforce.

Fotograf, Autor, Trainer, Künstler ... ich muss mal ein paar Gedanken loswerden zu meinem Business, oder generell zur Selbständigkeit. Ich glaube, ich spreche da vielen aus der Seele.
Ich lag heute Nacht lange wach und dachte viel nach. Was ist meine Arbeit überhaupt? War es richtig den Weg einzuschlagen und seinen Traum zu folgen?
Ich bin da ja sehr konsequent. Wenn ich eine Entscheidung fälle, dann zieh ich das durch, ist wie mit Scheiße bauen, wenn dann richtig!
Also ich lag da und plötzlich übermannte mich ein komisches Gefühl, so eine Art "was mach ich da überhaupt"?
Ich schreib ein Buch, nur für wen? Wollen die Leute überhaupt wissen was aus mir da so raus rinnt?
Ach was, dachte ich mir, heute stehst du auf und suchst dir einen Job als Lagerarbeiter.
Der Preiskampf im Business, die ewigen Anfeindungen, der ganze Neid, das kämpfen um den nächsten Auftrag, der allmonatliche Kampf sein Leben finanzieren zu können, der sich echt als sehr schwierig gestaltet und dieses Preisdumping, manchmal kommt man sich wie ein Bettler vor!
All diese Gedanken kreisten in meinem Kopf. Bin ich überhaupt gut genug, habe ich die richtigen Ideen und wollen die Menschen überhaupt meine Arbeit sehen?
WARUM VERDAMMT TU ICH MIR DEN SCHEIß ÜBERHAUPT NOCH AN?
Dann bin ich aufgestanden, hab mich hingesetzt und an meinem Buch geschrieben und jetzt weiß ich warum ich mir das alles antue!
Weil ich diesen Scheiß liebe und ich nichts mehr anderes in meinem Leben machen möchte, egal wie schwer es ist!
Diese Zeilen sind an all jene gerichtet die soviel Eier hatten sich voll und ganz ihrer Liebe zur Fotografie hinzugeben und das durchziehen!
Riesen Respekt vor allen an die, die das durchhalten!

This early Smith & Wesson rimfire revolver carries patent dates of 4/3/1856, 7/3/1859 and 12/18/1860 on the revolver drum. According to www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Category4_..., "In 1856 Smith & Wesson formed their second partnership to produce a small revolver designed to fire the Rimfire cartridge they patented in August of 1854. This revolver was the first successful fully self-contained cartridge revolver available in the world. Smith & Wesson secured patents for the revolver to prevent other manufacturers from producing a cartridge revolver - giving the young company a very lucrative business."
