Subject
Venice is one of the most famous places in the world, and there is no need to explain the reason why. All people outside Venice think of this city only in terms of art, monuments, Carnival, typical food and gondolas. But we should not forget that Venice is a real city, inhabited by common people, and not only a theatre for visitors. This is a normal scene one could see on a weekday, early in the morning: ancient dwellings, a canal, an old boat, a worker carrying a load. That is to say, reality.

A dreadful and arcane scene of witchcraft taken during the Krampus and Perchten parade which took place in Dobbiaco on 7th December, 2015. This is the oldest event of this kind held in South Tyrol. Dobbiaco is a village placed in Alta Val Pusteria [German: Hochpustertal - English: High Puster Valley].

Berlin (Germany): Reichstag's Glass Dome.
Subject
This is the Reichstag's glass dome—designed by the famous architect Norman Foster, following modern ecological principles. The "trawl" you see on the right, is a moving shield shading people from the sun. The bulk of mirrors you see on the left, is a prismatic cone which directs the daylight to the Parliament chamber below—at night, vice versa, the artificial internal light is directed outside, to illuminate the dome. The prismatic cone also contains systems to catch the rain water and the external air. Visitors can walk around the dome on two spiral passageways, coiling from the base to the top of the dome.

As probably some of you can remember, I have already photographed a supernatural event, as well as an evidence of UFO activity. Thus you will be not surprised to see this new picture of mine, where I have captured a proof of paranormal activity in the Central Station of Nuremberg: as you can clearly see, a ghost is materializing on a platform. Sorry for the low quality—i.e., reflections, shadows and the blue sticker—but I was behind a glass sheet. No tricks or forgery: the file is not manipulated, except for the usual post-production editing.

In July 2013 I was in Nuremberg for a brief press tour. I went to the Nazi Party Rally Grounds compound, which has a very interesting and Documentation Center concerning the history of the Nazi era. On that day there were several students visiting the museum, but unfortunately very few of them were interested in the exhibition, making noise, joking or even napping – like this girl I saw while I was passing on a balcony.

Subject
Rugby School is a renowned independent institute. It is famous not only for academic reasons, but also because of the namesake sport – which was allegedly invented there in 1823 by William Webb Ellis, a pupil who first scored a goal carrying the ball with the hands.
This is an expensive fee-paying institute, although impecunious students can enter it with scholarships. As in many other private schools in the world, boys and girls must follow a dress code — an example of which you can see depicted in my photo. Despite what people think, the dress code is not used for snobbish reasons, but just to make it clear that any Rugby School's pupil is worth the same as the others, does not matter if rich or poor.

A narrowboat is a houseboat built with a long and slim shape, suitable to navigate along narrow rivers and canals. In the United Kingdom it is a very common watercraft and, in the rest of the globe, one of the best known British symbols. The narrowboats are chiefly owned or rented for leisure, for traveling or just as accommodation. Some owners use them as second houses for weekends and holidays, and some use them as permanent dwellings. People from outside UK cannot really understand what riverside life is, unless they go there to spend hours strolling along canals, watching several watercrafts and talking with owners—like I did, by the way. In the case depicted in my photo, I would use the expression "way of life", but of course observations can change depending on the observer.

Carpi (Modena province - Italy): Carpinfiore Fair 2014.
Subject
On 5th and 6th April, 2014, I worked as the official photographer at Carpinfiore, a big horticultural fair held yearly in Carpi—a nice town near Modena, in northern Italy. Walking among the stalls, I found this man using pincers on some succulent plants, as he was a sort of botanical dentist. Anyway, there is a rational explanation for such a behaviour: in horticulture, pincers are used when one has to pick up small thorny plants among many others, to keep hands safe from injuries and to avoid damages to the neighbouring plants.

I was in Hamburg, visiting the Scandinavian churches which are placed on Ditmar-Koel-Straße. In front of the Finnish one I heard somebody addressing me in Italian, and who was he? Simo Lampinen, a former good rally-driver. Lampinen is Finnish, but speaks Italian very well because he drove many years for Italian teams. Now he lives in Hamburg, and he works as official observer for FIA. A very nice and friendly person—he stopped me just because he heard I was Italian—as well as an unexpected encounter.

Subject
A gig in Kingston Parade, next to the Bath Abbey. Bath is busker-friendly, although many cities in the world – including those in the UK) – try to stop this kind of art. In Bath and Somerset County, instead, street artists are welcome and even the County Council's website states that: "Busking and other forms of street entertainment are part of the Bath ‘experience’, creating an enhanced atmosphere and providing pleasure to many people, both local residents and visitors". A Code of Practice was set up and supported by the Council, the artists, the police and even the Abbey.
