So I sit in a cubicle all day, every day of the week typing obfuscated language into a computer to format text on the web.

Even though I take a lot of pride in my job and spend a lot of time doing research, I realized that I don't really have much of an output for this passion.

On top of that, I have next to no experience with visual design. On most web projects I've had a part in, the design has been in other, more capable hands.

So I decided to design a web page. And I did. And I liked it(whoah!). So I decided to host it on my student webspace and see what I can do with what I have available to me.

Do you hate it? Love it? Please, I welcome all criticism (as long as it's constructive)!

The site was designed in Safari, works in Firefox 3, Firefox 2, Firefox 1.5, Firefox 1.07 (all FF are both Mac and Windows), Camino (comparable to FF2/Mac), Opera 9.5, Opera 9.27 (both Mac and Windows) and looks almost presentable in Internet Explorer 7. As of right now, I apologize to IE6 users.

Every page on the site validates XHTML 1.0 Strict doctype, the CSS is level 2.1 valid, and the RSS feed validates as an RSS 2.0 feed.

I did all of my graphics in Adobe Photoshop, coded the site by hand in Panic's Coda, and it is hosted on my University web space.

The drawback of being hosted on my school webspace is that I have no access to active scripting, so there's no CMS like WordPress, which would open up the opportunity for comments, which would greatly enhance this site.

This is the perfect money making scheme! Sunny is using Flash Catalyst to convert her designs into Flex assets while Keon and Totte pair program. They are plugging Tottes ColdFusion backend to Keons Flex application via Live Cycle... Meanwhile daddy just sits on his ass watching cartoons :D

Contact and enquiry forms are succinctly presented, PDF’s are quick and easy to download whilst text and images stand out no matter what device is used. Additionally, the website was created using the Drupal Content Management System to maximise ease of use and a consistent aesthetic is achieved across all platforms to cohesively reflect the company’s branding and atmosphere.
