Way Back Machine

My parents share a dance at a party in their home. I will always be impressed by the fact that my father built this house. Mom is impressed by the fact that in those days, they brought in the lawn chairs for the guests to sit in because they did not have much furniture.

Dad took this one of mom on their boat during a summer trip to the lake.

I love the determined look on her face here... it says a lot about her.

Mom is back home now again, and is recovering.

I want to thank all of you for your concern and your kindness over this past week.

Way Back Machine

My dad's Gulf service station, on US Highway 70 in downtown Black Mountain, NC - taken sometime in the early 1960s.

I was over at my mom's on Sunday looking for some treasures in her photos and I came across this one.

Mom said that her brother had just come back from the air force and they went for a bike ride together. She borrowed his bow and arrow.

She said that her brother heard a guy whistle at her and was very surprised because she was his little sister.

So neat to hear these memories my mom has.
