.... somewhere on the Isle of Mull.
(I think it's a bur-reed …. possibly (I think it's a bur-reed …. possibly Sparganium erectum.)
The fellow in the picture is literally waking on water (frozen water), and over water (liquid water beneath the layer of ice.) The water is fairly shallow for 30-40 yards (27-37 m) out from the shore at this point, but deepens quickly after that.
The fragrant water lily is an aquatic plant that is most easily recognized by its eye-catching, open bloom and uniquely-shaped leaves. It is a radially symmetrical flower displaying either white or pink petals. The flower looms above flat, heart-shaped, glossy green, floating leaves.

Isn’t water great! It can come as a liquid in a river, as gas in clouds, as solid in snow, and as delicious in beer !
This is a pic taken somewhere between Jasper & Blue River in Canada. I think. If anyone recognises the place and can enlighten me that would be great.
I remember having to sneak away from my group of fellow travellers with another truant , and clambering over several boulders and blocked trails to reach this isolated and empty little river bank. Was worth getting put in the naughty book for 😉
Edit - mystery solved, it’s near Athabaska Falls

Seems building permits continue despite a water shortage in the South West. Experts saying a 1200 yr megadrought seriously impacts water shortages of the Southwest.
I used a long exposure here to capture the movement in the water as it moves around this wonderful salt formation.
The Great Salt Lake - GPS is not the exact spot of the shot.

Fontana dell'Amerano in Piazza Duomo a Catania
In front of the Palazzo degli Elefanti, seat of the Town Hall, on the southern side of Piazza Duomo, it is possible to see the Amenano Fountain, which takes its name from the Amenano river which flows underground.
Built in 1837 in Carrara marble by Tito Angelini, the fountain figuratively represents the river as a young man who, from a cornucopia, pours water into a pod-shaped chalice basin, at the base of which two tritons in turn pour the water in the channel crossed by the Amenano river in this visible stretch.
The people of Catania call this fountain "acqua a linzolu" because the water from the fountain pours like a small waterfall into the river and produces an evocative and characteristic "sheet" effect and also because in the past the commoners washed their linen in the river from this canal.

Hello there,
I've always enjoyed water lilies because they exude peacefulness and calm. They can be found in the summertime through early fall at the Leo Mol Sculpture Garden in Winnipeg.
Thank you for looking and for leaving me a comment. I love hearing from you!
Have a great day!
