The first rays of sunrise spill into the Tidal Basin and onto the bright pink and white petals of the cherry blossom trees as the Washington Monument stands watch over DC. A perfectly clear Sunday sky provides the perfect setting for the tens of thousands of visitors taking in the scene across the city this weekend.
Built for China Southern Airlines as B-6111 in 2008 and seen here inbound for Runway 26L at London Gatwick (LGW) as TOM82P from Madrid (MAD).
This mighty bird came to Orly and operated on behalf of Airfrance due to the pilots' strike. Seen here departing after an heavy shower to Reunion Island with "Airfance 0644" as callsign.
Fun fact, when leaving the frequency, pilot said "bon appétit" instead of "bonne journée". xD
