I scored this HUGE (3 by 4.5 foot) Key Map of Houston, mounted on sturdy foamboard with grommets for hanging at the Conroe Salvation Army store in early 2006. I paid $7.00 for it. I have yet to hang it because my husband would have a fit.
I have several large foamboard maps--four raised relief maps of the California desert, along with a set of 7 raised relief maps of the Hawaiian Islands that I have not mounted. One day I will own a roll-down school map (preferably a United States map set) and all of these maps will be displayed on my walls!
This is actually a wall display of a world map in the hotel's lobby. The Standard is housed in what used to be an oil company's headquarters and they retained many of the lobby fixtures. I'm not sure if this was one of the originals or not, but it's pretty cool. This is shot at an angle with compression, thus the distortion. (See notes on the photo)

Kiddo, in her freshly cleaned room... only took us ALL DAY. Sigh. But, I did unearth the map which is now hanging over her bed.
