Der Höckerschwan gehört zur Familie der Entenvögel. Aber so klein wie die meisten Enten ist er sicherlich nicht. Die etwas leichteren Weibchen bringen schon ein Gewicht von 10 kg auf die Waage.
Um die Größe zu forcieren ist die Kamera bodennah platziert worden. Dadurch wirkt der Schwan noch mächtiger.
The mute swan belongs to the duck family. But it is certainly not as small as most ducks. The somewhat lighter females already weigh 10 kg.
To enhance the size, the camera has been placed close to the ground. This makes the swan look even more powerful.
Take a look at this bizarre work of art, which nature has formed here from wind and water. I think that the general conditions have to be special for something like this to develop.
Incidentally, my camera was absolutely balanced at the time of the recording. That somehow makes it even more impressive to me.
Schaut Euch dieses bizarre Kunstwerk an, was die Natur hier aus Wind und Wasser geformt hat. Ich denke, dass die Rahmenbedingungen schon besonders sein müssen, dass sich etwas derartiges bilden kann.
Meine Kamera war zum Zeitpunkt der Aufnahme übrigens absolut in Waage. Das macht es für mich irgendwie noch beeindruckender.

In Alcudia auf dem Markt haben 2 von diesen Exemplaren gute 1,5kg auf die Waage gebracht und die waren sooo lecker :-)
Der Grund warum ich in den letzen Jahren kaum Bilder hochlud ist, das ich mein Leben komplett umgekrempelt habe. Ich brachte noch vor gut 3 1/2 Jahren 105 kg auf die Waage. Bekam dann aber gesundheitliche Probleme, aufgrund meines Übergewichtes und habe dann mein Leben von einem Tag auf den anderen komplett umgekrempelt. Angefangen Kraft- und Ausdauertraining zu machen und meine Essgewohnheiten umgestellt. Mittlerweile sinds 40kg weniger und ich bereue nichts. Allerdings blieb dabei die Fotografie ziemlich auf der Strecke. Hab mir vorgenommen das im kommenden Jahr wieder etwas mehr zu betreiben.
The reason why I haven't uploaded any pictures in the last few years is that I've completely turned my life upside down. A good 3 1/2 years ago I weighed 105 kg. But then I got health problems because of my overweight and then from one day to the next I completely turned my life upside down. I started doing strength and endurance training and changed my eating habits. Now it's 40kg less and I have no regrets. However, photography fell by the wayside. I decided to do it a little more in the coming year.

"Die "Reepschläger-Torte" mit ihrem Crème Brulée-Kern ummantelt von belgischem Schokoladenmousse ist zwar ebenso kalorienmächtig wie die Blaubeertorte mit weißer Schokolade, aber bei all diesem Nerv und Ärger mit der Pandemie und den Vorschriften hat sich doch wohl jeder mal so eine Köstlichkeit als Belohnung verdient - auf die Waage gucken wir erst wieder, wenn der Viren-Irrsinn ein Ende hat!"

Hier haben wir eine kleine Minaturwaage von meiner (vermeintlich) besseren Hälfte - scheint ziemlich alt (die Waage, nicht die bessere Hälfte :-p )
Das gute Stück ist gut 5cm breit

Yes, this is chocolate. Really ;-) Chocolatestraction. White swiss nougat chocolate called "ChocoRoc". It's similar to Toblerone (but not shape-wise), and there are dark, milk and white chocolate variations of it that are sold in small 52 g / 1,87 oz single bars. Here's a link to the manufacturer's website, Schönenberger, where you can see the shape of the single chocolate pieces and the small bar: STRG+ www.schoenenberger-choco.ch/produkt/bio-swiss-chocoroc-we... . One single small piece of that bar is 2,4 cm / 0,94 inches wide, so the width of the frame is 4,6 cm / 1,8 inches.
It's not what I originally had in mind. I wanted to do a "domino effect" (which is what you see on the scale when you've had too much chocolate) type of image, but realised I didn't have the "right" chocolate for it that I could actually break into uniform pieces and align them like dominoes. Everything I tried collapsed before I could even hit the shutter button. So I put the white bar (I picked the white one because you can see the nougat pieces so nicely there, and, yes, I bought all three variations – only to be on the safe side, of course) on a mirror tile consisting of several small, polished, hexagonally shaped mirror tiles with an uneven surface which creates a nicely distorted reflection, and I liked the "molten" effect it gave me. The story behind that single mirror tile is funny all for itself (warning! I'll digress now): I bought it at one of those huge DIY stores simply because I thought that the reflection could come in handy for an MM shot one day. Not only had they to order a single "sample" tile for me, but when I went there to pick it up it, this single tile (in a store where they usually sell boxes of tiles to people) was nowhere to be found. In the end I had three people occupied with the search for my tile – the nice lady with the rockabilly tattoos from the info desk, a tile department employee, and even a forklift driver who had to lift heavy boxes of tiles from one of those tall shelves, because my single tile was suspected to lie on top of one of those shelves. I don't remember where exactly we found the tile in the end, but we did, and everyone involved had had fun with this little "tile treasure hunt" ;-)

Doch, das ist Schokolade. Wirklich. Sehr leckere sogar: schweizer weiße Nougatschokolade (ähnlich Toblerone) von "Schönenberger Fin Chocolat", die es als kleine Riegel mit ungewöhnlich geformten Stücken in den Varianten Zartbitter, Milch- und eben weiße Schokolade gibt. Eigentlich wollte ich ja so eine Art Domino-Effekt-Bild machen (der Effekt, der sich auf der Waage einstellt, wenn man zu viel Schokolade gegessen hat), musste aber feststellen, dass sich zum einen die Riegel (von denen ich gleich alle drei Varianten gekauft hatte – nur um sicher zu gehen, natürlich) nicht in gleichmäßig geformte Einzelstückchen brechen ließen, und zum anderen auch bei einer "normalen" Tafel, die ich auch noch irgendwo rumliegen hatte, die Schokostücke abgeschrägte Kanten haben, die zwar das Abbrechen erleichtern, aber nicht unbedingt zu mehr Standfestigkeit verhelfen. Egal was ich versuchte, es sah entweder nicht gut aus oder krachte in sich zusammen, noch bevor ich den Auslöser drücken konnte. Also habe ich am Ende den weißen Riegel (dort kann man die Nougatstückchen so schön sehen) einfach auf eine Spiegelfliese aus einem bekannten Baumarkt gelegt. Diese Fliese ist insofern speziell, als dass sie aus mehreren hexagonal geformten und mit einer unebenen Öberfläche versehenen Einzel"flieschen" besteht. Ich hatte diese Fliese mal als Musterstück bestellt, weil ich dachte, dass sie sich irgendwann einmal für ein MM- oder anderes Foto als nützliches Accessoire erweisen könnte. Lustigerweise (Achtung, jetzt schweife ich endgültig vom Thema ab!) war die Fliese, als ich sie im Baumarkt abholen wollte, unauffindbar. Ich hatte ja angenommen, sie als Einzelteil am Infoschalter am Eingang abholen zu können. Aber nein, ich musste in die Fliesenabteilung – und dort ging die Suche dann los, denn es ist ja nicht so, dass man normalerweise eine einzige Fliese im Baumarkt kauft. Irgendwann waren drei Mitarbeiter ausschließlich damit beschäftigt, inmitten von ganzen Paletten von Fliesen nach dieser einen Fliese zu suchen - die nette Dame vom Infoschalter mit ihren schicken Rockabilly-Tattoos, ein Mitarbeiter der Fliesenabteilung und am Ende sogar ein Gabelstaplerfahrer, der all die schweren Päckchen vom Fliesenregal abräumen musste, weil man mein Einzelstück dort ganz oben vermutete. Ich weiß gar nicht mehr, wo wir die Fliese letztenendes gefunden haben, aber alle haben ihren Spaß gehabt auf dieser nicht alltäglichen Fliesenschatzsuche ;-)

... it seems my usually lightweight happy frogs (normally 40 g together) had been a little bit too enthusiastic this season with meeting the demands of their sweet tooth(s).
So when you want to regain your swim trunks bodys, there will be just water and flies for you for the next few weeks, boys !! :D

Wenn ihr also eure Badehosen-Figur zurückerlangen wollt, gibt es ab jetzt nur noch Wasser und Fliegen für euch, Jungs !! :D

Aus der Ferne kann man sich kaum vorstellen, wie kraftvoll ein Leopard sein kann.
Er wirkt fast zierlich.
Erst aus der Nähe betrachtet, wird einem klar, welche Muskelkraft in dieser schönen Katze steckt.
Voll ausgewachsen bringt dieses Tier eigentlich nur ca. 70 kg auf die Waage, kann aber locker mehr als das eigene Gewicht an Beute in höchste Baumkronen vor anderen Fressfeinden in Sicherheit bringen.

Das ursprüngliche Fachwerkhaus wurde im Jahre 1534 als Speicher- und Waagehaus der Braunschweiger Neustadt auf dem Wollmarkt, nur wenige Meter entfernt von der Andreaskirche errichtet.Dieses ist eine 1994 vollendete detailgetreue Rekonstruktion des ursprünglichen Gebäudes. Heute dient sie der Volkshochschule Braunschweig als Verwaltungs- und Schulungsgebäude.
The original half-timbered house was built in 1534 as storage and weighing house of the Braunschweiger Neustadt on the Wollmarkt, only a few meters away from the Andreas church.This is a 1994-completed detailed reconstruction of the original building. Today, it serves as an administration and training building for adult education center Braunschweig.
