In the after land of Battery Vineta in a other peace of dune land the Germans build a kind of "bunker dorp" in the Roomse Duinen from about 20-25 light bunkers mostly for personnel use.
The Germans left this location somewhere around 1943 because the bunkers where not strong and useful enough.

After the war there was in Holland and where not in Europe, a shortage for living pace for families because there was so many destroyed. So many of those "bunker village" where standing empty and where mostly build to settle German personnel so they could easily transformed into more or less "normal houses" for family use.
During the 60's most of these bunker villages where not longer necessary and where re-used as "holyday homes" during summertime. Some of these bunkers where used by Scouting groups and later on the hole village was covered under sand.

Like the park on Nieuwlandsedijk, the Roman dune was largely created by digging in bunkers, which were built during the Second World War.
Until the 1960s, these bunkers were still largely inhabited by local citizens, most of whom had not survived the war in their original home.

There were two Festungen in the Netherlands: Festung IJmuiden and Festung Hoek van Holland. The Festung Hoek van Holland was the most important location of the Atlantic Wall in the Netherlands for the Germans because of the Rotterdam harbor. The Festung Hoek van Holland, strategically located at the mouth of the Nieuwe Waterweg, ensured that this world port was sufficiently protected against allied troops.

17.5m hybrid powered Damen Crane Vessel 1804 belonging to the ābagger en drijfvuilā department of the utility company Waternet, Amsterdam (ENI: 03802140; MMSI: 244126606). Built in 2022 by Damen Shipyards Hardinxveld. Seen pushing a dumb barge (ENI:03800353) carrying a red marker buoy.
