The Jeep Renegade (BU/520) is a subcompact crossover SUV designed by Jeremy Glover and Ian Hedge unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motorshow, going on sale August 2014 The Renegade is the first Jeep product to be produced exclusively outside of North America it is also sold on the North American, built in plants in Melfi, Italy (alongside the related Fiat 500X); Goiana, Brazil alongside the Compass and Fiat Toro and in Guangzhou, China. Standard Renegade models come with front-wheel drive, with four-wheel drive available on Sport, Latitude (known as Longitude in Europe), Altitude Limited and Trailhawk trims.
The Limited is the top of the line model in Europe includes the Latitude's standard equipment, plus the 2.4L TigerShark Inline Four-Cylinder engine, a nine speed automatic transmission, leather seating surfaces, a silver-finished front grille, chrome side mirrors and door handles

Not far inland from the seaside town of Colleville-Montgomery (before the war, the town was known as Colleville-sur-Orne) lies the underground bunkers of Stützpunkt 17 (Stp 17) - which the allies nicknamed "Hillman" - a sophisticated network of in-ground fortifications, tunnels and shelter built by the German Wehrmacht in 1942. The 24-hectare complex of trenches, gun cupolas, sleeping & dining quarters, radio rooms, and command-control centre, served as the headquarters of the region's German coastal defence. It housed the command post of Oberst Colonel Ludwig Krug, and the surrounding farm fields were fortified by a large network of mines, barbed wire and trenches.
The whole area was buried under flat farm fields, which made it very difficult to approach.
Colonel Krug held out until the morning of June 7 before finally surrendering. Only 3 officers and 70 men were left alive among them his son Hans and grandson Christian.
The 18 underground blockaus have been restored since 1990 by an association called "Les Amis du Suffolk Régiment".

The corner of the Garnisongasse and Schwarzpanierstraße used to be a space invader location. Not anymore, also this low mounted space invader with reflecting eyes has been scratched off the wall.

What always amazes me were the distances of the bell towers painted inside.
The site is mantained by volunteers, on my first visit on 2001 one of them explained to me they found the original paints after digging the bunker out and simply re-painted it.
