I took a walk along the river to Stevington with the idea of taking some photos of the mill with snow lying on the ground. The heavy mist that descended as I walked made any background disappear so the shot here is purely the mill.
Although I knew that there would be no interesting background to the image I wanted to try a few different compositions where I could fill the frame with the windmill in the foreground and then, at a later date, have some star trails in the sky behind. This is from the opposite side of the windmill to the two previous shots, looking directly up the sail.

After my walk to Stevington Windmill I returned to St Mary's church in Oakley. This is my final shot from that day. I wanted to include the entrance porch that I couldn't in my earlier shot as there were some people in the way.
As before the sky is bland, but you can only work with what is in front of you. Two thirds of a stop of exposure compensation was added to try and keep the snow white.
