This wallpaper is just on one wall of the room we spend most time in, contrasting nicely with the other walls that are very pale grey. Many people fail to notice the little butterfly within the pattern.

SCOUT: "Urgh.... ahhh... Pet... Peter!" *Rolls around on sofa.*
PADDY: "Oh dear! It sounds like Scout may be having a nightmare!"
JAGO: "Ssshhh.... there, there Scout." *Rubs Scout's arm gently with paw.* "Time to wake up."
SCOUT: "Peter! Pete...." *Opens eyes and sits up.*
COUSIN PADDINGTON: "Goodness, little Scout! Are you alright?"
SCOUT: "Oh! Hullo Cousin Paddington. Yes I'm fine!" *Smiles.* "Goodness, what are you all doing here?"
BOGART: "It sounds like you were having a bad dream, Scout."
JAGO: "We all heard you, Scout."
PADDY: "And we were worried!"
SCOUT: "Oh! Well I was having a dream, I guess, but it wasn't a bad one. It was very real though."
PADDY: "What happened in your dream, Scout?"
SCOUT: "Well, I was dreaming that Peter, you know, miin beste vriend?"
JAGO: "Yes Scout, we all know who Peter is."
SCOUT: "Well, I was dreaming that we were meeting up to play hide-and-seek together."
BOGART: "That sounds like fun, Scout."
SCOUT: "Well, it would have been, except that we were both inside a book."
COUSIN PADDINGTON: "Inside a book, Scout?"
SCOUT: "Yes, Cousin Paddington!"
PADDY: "As in you were in a story, like a faerie tale?"
SCOUT: "No, Paddy, like Peter was on one page and I was on the other, but then, Peter was looking at he and I from outside the book."
JAGO: "That sounds very odd, Scout."
SCOUT: "Do you know what was even odder, Jago?"
JAGO: "No, Scout. Please tell us."
SCOUT: "Well, the book had legs and was dancing around! It was very disturbing."
PADDY: "Goodness, it sounds like it! But no harm done, Scout. It was just a dream."
SCOUT: "I must ask mijn beste vriend if he had the same dream. Peter! Peter mijn beste vriend! Did you have a funny dream about being stuck with me inside a dancing book? Ik hou zooooo veel van jou mijn allerbeste vriend. Heel veel berenkusjes!"
My bears Paddy, Scout, Bogart and Jago have made very good friends with four bears in Holland called Peter, Oleg, Fuzzy and Benny www.flickr.com/photos/40262251@N03/galleries/721577154558... and their Mummy www.flickr.com/photos/66094586@N06/. Peter is Scout’s best friend and the two are very similar. It looks like Peter and Scout are more closely connected than even they realised, as it appears that they both had the same dream! My Paddington Bear came to live with me in London when I was two years old (many, many years ago). He was hand made by my Great Aunt and he has a chocolate coloured felt hat, the brim of which had to be pinned up by a safety pin to stop it getting in his eyes. The collar of his mackintosh is made of the same felt. He wears wellington boots made from the same red leather used to make the toggles on his mackintosh.
He has travelled with me across the world and he and I have had many adventures together over the years. He is a very precious member of my small family.
Scout was a gift to Paddy from my friend. He is a Fair Trade Bear hand knitted in Africa. His name comes from the shop my friend found him in: Scout House. He tells me that life was very different where he came from, and Paddy is helping introduce him to many new experiences. Scout catches on quickly, and has proven to be a cheeky, but very lovable member of our closely knit family.
Travelling all the way from London, Cousin Paddington was caught in transit thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic. After so long here he has decided to stop with us permanently. That makes me happy, as the more I look into his happy, smiling face, the more attached I am becoming to him.
Jago is a recent addition to my ever-growing family. A gift from a dear friend in England, he is made of English mohair with suede paw pads and glass eyes. He is a gentle bear, kind and patient who carries an air of calm about him. He is already fitting in with everyone else very nicely.
Bogart has travelled all the way from Georgia, via Alabama as a gift to me from a friend. He has lovely Southern manners and seems to be a fun and gentle soul with an inquisitive nature.
The photo below and this one were bought several years apart on eBay. This one is from Christmas 1964 and the other is from Christmas 1959. I'm almost positive this is the same woman as the one sitting on the right.
