With a new symbol, W205 heads north at the Tennessee River bridge in Knoxville. It will be a slow trip north, as rail was to be dropped in multiple places between here and Jacksboro where they would tie up for the night.
W205 pulls up to Iron Belt Road to have of engineering personal to drop rail along the right between here & Acworth. 8-11-23
While observing W205, a loaded rail train, pass by, I noticed some the trucks had something that immediately caught my attention & got me excited. Some of the trucks were made for the Nashville, Chattanooga, & St. Louis Railway (NC&St.L). As a giant fan of a fallen flag that hasn’t existed since 1957, seeing NC&St.L equipment still in use in 2023 & on a line that they operated on was a nice surprise to see. 8-11-23

I used this test drive of course for a photography session :-) So I visited the Mercedes Benz museum where I took some "night shots" and just behind the museum is the branch office Stuttgart where I took this photo.
About the Car. As mentioned in the last picture it is a Mercedes Benz C-class (W205) the C300h, h for hybrid. So there is the usual C250 diesel engine and in addition also a little electric machine with 27hp. It is a Mild hybrid, so no plug-in and charge but charged for example during driving and the regenerative brake. It supports the diesel to gain more power on the one hand and on the other hand in the city you can drive without diesel with electric power but only up to 40 kph until battery is at around 40% but you have to be careful with the throttle control, diesel is starting up seamless if needed. It is super easy to drive, you can just do it like you do in a usual diesel.
The driving experience is great, so comfortable and the interior is just perfect WOW!

With many sections of rail dropped between here and Knoxville and the crew down to the wire for time, the rail train prepares to tie down for the day. They are seen here about to take a restricting signal into the siding at Jacksboro.

First of all, I would love to know your opinions about the new "free"/"pro" accounts on Flickr. Is it worth to get a pro account? Are you going to use Flickr in the future, or is no one going to look at my pictures in the future and won't I be able to see any new uploads from you? (those who are reading)
Other than that, this week's highlight is going to be theis C-Class from Algeria. It is only my third standard issue from Algeria and suprisingly not from Algiers. I was very surprised to find this car parked up at an upscale hotel at the Ku'damm, and it was even cooler to find it not coming from Algiers. Algeria used to be a hard spot for me and still is, to be honest. In countries like France and Spain these plates are much more common for very obvious reasons.

US-Spec Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W205)
Initially imported in Kharkiv, UA as shown by the plate frame as a salvage auction, after ending up in Luxembourg (note the US rear plate support below the Euro frame!)

I really don't understand why the C63 and the C63 S aren't the same car, the performance is pretty much the same despite a 44 Hp difference. That and the fact people who can afford this kind of vehicle don't seem to be bothered about the ~8000€ price gap between the two. This becomes all too apparent when 'Carrosraros' lists 40 known units of the C63 S and only 5 of the C63 in the country. This particular one i must say is specced quite nicely.
