For today's outfit I wanted to move back from the 1980s-inspired looks and show off something more 1970s-inspired.

Starting with the blouse by Apricot Paws, we see a lot of that familiar 1940s and 1950s styling that was very popular in the 1970s and 1980s. It has that nice proper look with the button up front and is a much tighter fit than the flowing cuts of the 80s I've talked about before in previous posts. Finally we have the pussybow to complete the look. Pussybows were common as early as the 19th century and were a fixture of 1960s fashion when women began to enter the workforce and they were incorporated by designers such as Coco Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent. Later, in the 1980s they were closely linked with Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher as part of her image.

Moving to the pants by Just BECAUSE we see the flowing flared cuff that was in style in the 1960s and 1970s that has come back into style today. Today's versions of this style would be looser down the leg and not bunched at the knee quite so much. This cut is great for pairing with your favorite pair of boots.

Finally, I'm wearing a much more modern version of a feathered style by RAMA.SALONxSintiklia. Feathered styles for women were extremely popular in the 1970s and into the 1980s and maybe no one wore the style more famously than Farrah Fawcett. Styles in the 1970s had plenty of bounce and fluff but nowhere near the volume they would see in the following decade.
