The Vortex Jazz Club, shut down despite a lengthy public campaign by Richard Midda, was occupied as a social centre for six weeks in early 2007. Running voluntarily and collectively it held events, meetings, film art and music, family cafes. It was evicted in march, and after a weekend of 24 hour security, one of the walls was smashed in, and gates built around the space where the Vortex had been. These are pictures of the fence.

Pairs of pink eared ducks feed by spinning fast in a tight circle head to tail. This vortexing stirs up invertebrates which they feed on.
I got behind some flowers to try for an arty shot. This is a series of Vortex's train head into the loop with flowers in the foreground.
