This is a lizard that I played about with by, puting it through vortex and putting it through gray style!
I currently reside in a place named Waikoloa Village, which is about 25 miles North-Northeast of Kailua-Kona.
Waikoloa is known for the trade winds which whip through here most of the year. Sometimes folks, including me, jokingly refer to the place as Waikoblowa.
These winds can be very strong, gusting to 30-40 miles per hour.
I like the winds. It adds action to a pretty, but otherwise exceptionally boring bedroom community.
This morning the winds were quite strong. I spotted this butterfly resting in the grass in the side yard. It stayed there for a good long time, which allowed me to setup and snap a few shots.
I suspect it was there to rest from being battered around by the gusty winds.
As I went to move and setup in front of it, it took flight. Because of the winds, its' path looked like what you'd expect to see if Stevie Wonder was forced to pilot a 747 at 35,000 feet after having just downed four Absolut Citron martinis, up, shaken hard, with a twist.
And then, as suddenly as it had begun, the portal vanished and I was spared... probably because I'm such a huge dork.
