Rebecca is vocalist and trumpeter and performed in a back patio of 'Pamenar' which seats about 30 people (uncomfortably 😄) Michael is Rebecca's long time partner, so I purposely included him in the photo. Kensington Jazz Festival was back after forced hiatus, the attendance was about 60% of previous years, but the concerts were 100% wonderful.

Laura Hubert was vocalist of popular rock group Leslie Spit Trio. She later turned to traditional jazz and blues and is pretty good at that too. I may have heard her first time 20 years ago and quite often since. She is loved by her Toronto audiences and by musician friends in Toronto. Here she is with trumpetist Kevin Ray Clark who just arrived from New Orleans. The whole weekend was full of great music in the old Gooderham Distillery, which became tourist attraction 20 years ago. It did not attract many Torontonians in the last decade or so; let's hope this programming is a change for the better.

A Yellow-throated Vireo singing his little heart out. My first time to photograph one of these Llittle beauties. It has been a season of firsts!
Yellow-throated Vireos are early spring migrants that travel from their wintering grounds in Central and South America.
Guitarist Libor Smoldas, played with pianist and vocalist Jakub Zomer, one of the best known jazz musicians in Prague in a large church (1931) in Smichov. They played for swing dancers. I've seen Libor in Toronto several years ago. Together we figured out, it was 10 years ago. He came then for mini concert tour; two of the 4 venues are no longer available for concerts. I had seen Jakub Zomer first time in Little Glenn Club. The acoustics in the church were pretty good, but the lighting was atrocious, so I only upload one photo, which I had to manipulate to get something visually palatable. I did not find out the name of the sax player, maybe, I still will.

Mo Mitchell violin is in the regular line-up with the Doghouse. Sunday night is a party time in Cameron House. He is mostly playing in Cameron with Doghouse or at Drom Taberna with Viper Cloud in the style of Stephan Grappelli/ Django Reinhardt. He also plays a variety of music from Jazz to Folk to Hip-hop, Bluegrass, Hungarian, Celtic and Indian Classical. He does some teaching, as with club performances the paycheck is mostly just a voluntary tip-jar donation.
Here he is with band leader Matt Coldwell, while Dave Clark (Rheostatics, Tragically Hip) took the seat behind drum kit for few tunes. Mo is modest and kind of shy; I have always hard time to get a good photo of him, as he is not seeking limelight.

'Sonny Balcones' were on the menu at St. Barnabas Church. I've seen them N-times; I guess, I like them. Corry sings in French and English and has several professions; one of them is making costumes for theatres. On the photo is also Bill Bob Stevenson. I have never seen Robert Stevenson with any other band. He is now about 70 and studied at the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto) and the University of Western Ontario. He is also a composer and plays regular clarinet and also quite often a strange long bass-clarinet.

At the Country Gospel Concert, this pretty, pleasant and photogenic vocalist was the main subject of many of my shots.

Went out Saturday afternoon to listen to the Legendary Las Vegas alto saxophonist, Tom Hall and his quartet feat. Toscha Comeaux, at The Bootlegger Italian Bistro this. They sounded wonderful!
A bit more Photoshop pattern play, the colour palette determined by the music that was playing at the time, which happened to be a live version of the old Pink Floyd tune "Green Is The Colour" by Nick Mason’s band Saucerful of Secrets.
Nick Mason was the drummer for Pink Floyd of course, and it’s great to see him still playing and touring at nearly 78 years of age. Other members of Saucerful of Secrets you may know are long time Floyd tour band member and bassist Guy Pratt and Gary Kemp vocalist and guitarist from Spandau Ballet.
Saucerful of Secrets was formed to breath new life into a lot of the older Floyd tunes and it really is worth a watch - excellent stuff if you’re a Floyd fan, and worth a try even if you’re not.
"Green Is The Colour" was the fifth track on Pink Floyd's 1969 album More. It was composed and written by Roger Waters and the original sung by David Gilmour.

Hanna Tuulikki is a Finnish-English vocalist, musician and artist, born in Sussex, who is involved in the Nalle (Finnish for "teddy bear") and Scatter musical projects, and has also contributed to the One Ensemble of Daniel Padden. Her vocals have been compared to those of Joanna Newsom and Björk on occasion.

The beautiful and talented, Christina Amati was kind enough to let me get a quick picture of her, with my iPhone, during our break at a show we performed at, Delilah Supper Club here in Las Vegas.
'Old Time Jazz Band' is probably the appropriate band for Josef Krajnik, as he remembers the good time and bad time for 85 years (1939). He played in clubs all over Europe and even in New Orleans, where all jazz musicians must go at least once. I seen him in the 'Jazz Dock' (best jazz club in Prague). It's located on the river bank and moves with the waves to the rhythm of the music. On Sunday afternoons the room is usually filled with traditional jazz, sometimes New Orleans style. Josef Krajník is probably best known in Prague as the leader of the 'Metropolitan Jazz Band'. Krajnik voice is not strong anymore, but he does some scatting. Barbora Vágnerová did most of the singing, but clarinetist/saxophonist Robert Musil was equally capable vocalist. Ludek Havel is a classically trained pianist (Jaroslav Ježek -conservatory). They all had fun on the stage. The audience tended to be older and mostly Czech.
