Label reads:" Hardy's Nottage Hill The Nottage Vineyard is named after Thomas H. Nottage who joined his Uncle, Thomas Hardy (Founder of the Company) in 1884. He managed the vineyards and cellars at McLaren Vale for over 60 years and the vineyard is on the site of his original home. The soil of the Nottage Hill vineyard is sandy loam, rich in ironstone, the aspect is westerly and the Shiraz grapes grown here produce clarets of great distinction. This bottle was binned in a deep cool cellar following maturation in Oak Puncheons for 2 years. The label depicts the original Tintara Cellars with the Nottage Hill vineyard in the background. Label reads: "Lindeman's Hunter River Valley Riesling. Bin: 3455. Vintage: 1968. Vintaged from Riesling grapes grown at Lindeman's "Ben Earn" and "Sunshine" Vineyards in the Pokolbin area of the Huner River Valley, N.S.W. It is a fresh, well flavoured, delicate Riesling, with attractive grapes bouquet and taste, and pronounced Hunter character. This wine was awarded: Gold medal 1969 Brisbane Show. Silver medal 1969 Sydney Show in the Export Table Dry White and Open Hock Any Vintage classes respectively, and may be enjoyed now or cellared for many years for further maturity."
