Home quarantine. This is a view from my balcony (above the street) during home quarantine.

Io resto a casa.

IO RESTO A CASA!

FALLO ANCHE TU!

I stay at home.

The photos that I publish these days are photos taken from my archive, this is to tell you: I STAY AT HOME, because the Italy of the Corona virus is not the photo of a deserted square or of the empty bar tables or the shutters of the lowered shops , Italy of the corona virus is: I REMAIN HOME for the good of all!

I STAY HOME for the respect of doctors, anesthesiologists, nurses and all those who, in this sad moment, work day and night for the health of all of us!

I STAY AT HOME!

DO IT ALSO!

This is what happens when you can't get a Pedi-cure. 😂 I crack myself up. Lol

(I actually have never had one done - just thought it funny. I am some would say low maintenance)

This is from a screenshot i took of an ad on one of my Whatsapp groups. A woman in the town is selling masks at ZAR650 for 100 masks. It is quite expensive. My husband did get 3 masks at work, he still has to go to work for now. It is not ideal to reuse them but better than nothing, i suppose. I don't have any masks, but then, i am not leaving the house for the foreseeable future.

Home on the farm COVID19 seems far, far away. Be well everyone.

Most experience confusion , shock and fear with their world turned upside down during these difficult times. The human spirit is powerful it will survive whatever comes if people will stand together and let the light shine bright.

Just about a month before the virus outbreak, I was leading a trip to Ecuador, for friends from California.

This is Northern Green-crowned hummingbird, spotted in cloud forest in Ecuador (different to those in CR which are mostly found in lowlands). Woodnymphs (Thalurania) are medium-sized hummingbirds with a slightly decurved, black bill; the males also have a noticeably forked tail, and glittering throat and belly. They inhabit the understory of humid lowland forest and in adjacent advanced second growth, and often are common.

It is now considered by the AOU as the nominate subspecies of the crowned woodnymph. Even though, it is replaced south by the Green-crowned Woodnymph (eastern Panama south to southwestern Ecuador).

They feed from nectar, taken from a variety of flowers, mainly in the canopy and forest edges, where their food plants include epiphytic Ericaceae and bromeliads, and defend flowers and scrubs in their feeding territories. Females usually stay in the understory. After breeding, both sexes may concentrate at Heliconias. Like other hummingbirds, violet-crowned woodnymph also takes small insects and spiders as an essential source of protein.

As I mentioned earlier, I'm staying at home. Luckily I have a husband and a son to stay at home with. We all help out in different ways.

In a way I think that 'staying home' gives an illusion of safety as it's calm here, the days just like they ever were except that nobody goes out - except to collect some prescriptions from the pharmacy. But on the TV news it seems to be a whole different world of which we are only spectators

Stay safe!

Over 23 millions have have been made sick by the virus (probably many more than that!) and over 800,000 have died (also probably more than that!) ... and no end is in sight.

Just saw this on Facebook and thought you'd get a kick out of it. All too true here!

This sweet little Wombat at Nowra Zoo was always trying to climb out! I had no idea it was possible. The keeper said once he gained more weight he wouldn't be able to.
