This is a photo from Villa Borghese, Rome and the Temple of Asclepius built at the little lake there in the park. The temple building itself is late 18th century (built 1785-1792), but it was built as a home for some ancient sculptures. The statue of Asclepius himself is thought to have come from the Mausoleum of Augustus, and the other, smaller pieces are of Hellenistic date and style.
But there are a couple of things you can't see in this shot: 1) it was incredible hot, and even the evenings weren't all that nice. But they looked quite pretty. And 2) there was a big sign of the gate entering this area that said it was to close at 21, and I went in at a quarter past, hoping very much they wouldn't lock me in. Thankfully they didn't.

The Villa was built for Pope Julius III, started in 1551 and completed around 1553, as a place to relax at and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Today the villa houses the National Etruscan Museum.
La ciudad de Béjar, declarada Conjunto Histórico ArtÃstico desde 1974, recuerda su pasado medieval con la muralla defensiva y la arraigada tradición de los Hombres de Musgo. Su esplendor pasado como centro de fabricación de paños le ha valido el tÃtulo de ciudad textil.
Una airosa muralla medieval protege el espolón rocoso en el que se levanta la ciudad de Béjar. Sus flancos los riegan arroyos y rÃos, como el del Cuerpo de Hombre, que arrastran aguas claras desde las nevadas cumbres de la sierra.
Para disfrutar de la naturaleza se puede subir al Castañar, con el santuario que cobija su patrona, o visitar la Ancianita, según afirman algunos, la plaza de toros más antigua de España.
También merece una visita el jardÃn renacentista de El Bosque, que esconde estanques, paseos, arboledas, terrazas y fuentes.
La ruta de las fábricas textiles adentra al visitante en la antigua tradición industrial de la villa ducal.

Boxford Roman mosaic is a mosaic at Boxford near Newbury, West Berkshire, England, rediscovered during an archaeological dig in August 2017. It dates from the Roman period. The 4th century (AD) mosaic is over 6 metres long. Its central panel is thought to show Bellerophon, at the court of either Iobates or Proteus, battling Chimera.
Anthony Beeson, an expert on Roman mosaics, said it is "without question the most exciting mosaic discovery made in Britain in the last 50 years and must take a premier place amongst those Romano-British works of art that have come down to modern Britons".
The mosaic was uncovered during a community archaeology project, investigating three Roman sites near to the village of Boxford, which was led by the Boxford History Project, the Berkshire Archaeology Research Group and Cotswold Archaeology, which began in 2011. Earlier in 2017, a villa "of modest size" was unearthed at Boxford. The mosaic was found at the southern end of this building. Only one half of the mosaic was uncovered. It was subsequently reburied, to ensure its preservation.
Further archaeology was undertaken in 2019 and an open day for the public occurred on Saturday 31st August 2019,
It will be covered again to preserve it for posterity.

Die Villa Hügel im Essener Stadtteil Bredeney wurde 1870–1873 von Alfred Krupp errichtet und ist das ehemalige Wohn- und Repräsentationshaus der Industriellenfamilie Krupp.
Die Villa verfügt auf ihren 8.100 Quadratmetern Wohn- und Nutzfläche über 269 Räume und liegt – an prominenter Stelle über dem Ruhrtal und dem Baldeneysee – im 28 Hektar großen zugehörigen Hügelpark.
Heute ist die Alfried Krupp von Bohlen und Halbach-Stiftung Eigentümerin des Anwesens. In der Villa Hügel hat auch die Kulturstiftung Ruhr ihren Sitz. Im Haus finden regelmäßig Veranstaltungen, z.B. Konzerte oder Ausstellungen, statt. Zahlreiche historische Räume sowie die Historische Ausstellung Krupp können zu den regulären Öffnungszeiten besichtigt werden.
