Crazy Tuesday theme: big verses small

Tablespoon vs coffee spoon

🎤 Lyrics: David Guetta - Titanium ft. Sia

[Verse 1]

You shout it out, but I can't hear a word you say

I'm talking loud, not saying much

I'm criticized, but all your bullets ricochet

You shoot me down, but I get up

[Pre-Chorus]

I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose

Fire away, fire away

Ricochet, you take your aim

Fire away, fire away

[Chorus]

You shoot me down, but I won't fall

I am titanium

You shoot me down, but I won't fall

I am titanium

Johannes 16, Vers 33

John 16, verse 33

Blah, blah, New Pip-verse whatever.

So, this one isn't as clean as my Batman or my Superman, but I like how it turned out. I'm especially happy since I could never make a cyborg since he normally requires some unique parts. Though, I'm regretting adding red and blue lights, it clashes too much I think.

Op 8 juli 2005 arriveerde Railion 6441 met een viertal fabrieksnieuwe reservebakken VIRM in Amersfoort.

The shape of the book is still well defined. However 150 years of rain, wind and snow have scrubbed away virtually all traces of the inscription. A growing number of stones in these old cemeteries serve only as grave markers as there's no longer any visual reference as to the names of the deceased. Any direct descendants are dead. No one visits these graves or maintains them. And the stones are left to simply wither away. That's where I come in.

Hạ Long Bay (Vịnh Hạ Long, literally: "descending dragon bay") is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and popular travel destination in Quảng Ninh Province, Vietnam. Administratively, the bay belongs to Hạ Long City, Cẩm Phả town, and is a part of Vân Đồn District. The bay features thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various shapes and sizes. Hạ Long Bay is a center of a larger zone which includes Bái Tử Long Bay to the northeast, and Cát Bà Island to the southwest. These larger zones share a similar geological, geographical, geomorphological, climate and cultural characters.

Hạ Long Bay has an area of around 1,553 km2, including 1,960–2,000 islets, most of which are limestone. The core of the bay has an area of 334 km2 with a high density of 775 islets. The limestone in this bay has gone through 500 million years of formation in different conditions and environments. The evolution of the karst in this bay has taken 20 million years under the impact of the tropical wet climate.

The geo-diversity of the environment in the area has created biodiversity, including a tropical evergreen biosystem, oceanic and sea shore biosystem. Hạ Long Bay is home to 14 endemic floral species and 60 endemic faunal species.

Historical research surveys have shown the presence of prehistorical human beings in this area tens of thousands years ago. The successive ancient cultures are the Soi Nhụ culture around 18,000–7000 BC, the Cái Bèo culture 7000–5000 BC and the Hạ Long culture 5,000–3,500 years ago.

Hạ Long Bay also marked important events in the history of Vietnam with many artifacts found in Bài Thơ Mount, Đầu Gỗ Cave, Bãi Cháy.

500 years ago, Nguyễn Trãi praised the beauty of Hạ Long Bay in his verse Lộ nhập Vân Đồn, in which he called it "rock wonder in the sky". In 1962, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of North Vietnam listed Hạ Long Bay in the National Relics and Landscapes publication. In 1994, the core zone of Hạ Long Bay was listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site according to criterion vii, and listed for a second time according to criterion viii.

Let friends forbear to mourn and weep

While sweetly in the dust we sleep:

This toilsome world we’ve left behind

In heaven a resting place to find

Sheepstor, Dartmoor, England

Looking at the newly painted beach huts at Gorleston I was reminded of a pop song by Pete Seeger in 1963. Little boxes on the hillside

Little boxes made of ticky-tacky

Little boxes, little boxes

Little boxes all the same

[Verse 2]

There's a green one and a pink one

And a blue one and a yellow one

And they're all made out of ticky-tacky

And they all look just the same

Inspired again (by T S Eliot)

I don't remember how to write poetry anymore. I've not written a line, verse, or stanza in nearly 15 years.

I do write a lot, of course. If you follow me for even the shortest of whiles, you've seen this. But it's writing, not poetry. Not exactly.

Ideally, I'd like to publish a book of photography & poems/poetry together. No idea if anyone wants that, but I do, and I suppose that's nearly all that should matter here. (It isn't, but that's fine too.)

The last poetry book I published (are we still calling them chapbooks for some reason?) was exhausting. The writing was, I mean. Reading it was too, but that was the point.

I gathered all of my words and made them as inaccessible as possible. And then I was finished. Truly finished, maybe.

Straying into rhyming and actual meter isn't something I'll do, so it's that vague other thing - writing thoughts with oddly-placed line breaks and spaces denoting something something and calling it a day.

That. That's what I haven't been able to do.

Also, I won't write poetry about writing. It's my own personal Rubicon/Vietnam.

But we'll see.

Nobody asked, so it's potentially happening.

I read and walked for miles at night along the beach, writing bad blank verse and searching endlessly for someone wonderful who would step out of the darkness and change my life. It never crossed my mind that that person could be me.

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again...

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come.

Ομήρου Ιλιάδα, Ραψωδία A, 316 Homer Ilias, Rhapsody A, 316

...The poem either speaks to us or don't speak to us, Seferis says. You can read it twenty times in twenty months or five years, and not tell you anything. And suddenly, where you walk on the seashore to get some air, a verse suddenly strikes your existence, like ocean's satin strikes your eyes, and it brightens you all. At exactly the same time that the poem is lit inside you...

At this time of year they should not be seen, however, the warm autumn we are having is causing many insects to get confused and think it is the end of the summer.

This was another fairly quick figure. I'm pretty happy with the way he came out! And I'm sorry if the editing isn't as good as My last picture, I was kinda rushing it. :/

Okay first off, the cane was made out of a BrickForge shepherd's crook that I modified and the end of the cane has a Lego katana handle glued on the end. The watch was made from a BrickForge vambrace piece with the end of a stud glued on. The face/body/arms/legs are all 100% painted by me. The vest and coat sleeves were sculpted using a self-hardening clay called Miliput. That's about it, thanks for looking! :)

O ME! O life!... of the questions of these recurring;

Of the endless trains of the faithless—of cities fill’d with the foolish;

Of myself forever reproaching myself, (for who more foolish than I, and who more faithless?)

Of eyes that vainly crave the light—of the objects mean—of the struggle ever renew’d;

Of the poor results of all—of the plodding and sordid crowds I see around me;

Of the empty and useless years of the rest—with the rest me intertwined;

The question, O me! so sad, recurring—What good amid these, O me, O life?

Answer.

That you are here—that life exists, and identity;

That the powerful play goes on, and you will contribute a verse.
