I'm now 47 minutes on the phone, with the world's worst holding music that loops every thirty seconds.

All this to tell them that we changed our mind on ordering DSL, realizing how much cheaper for us it'd be to just simply buy our own wireless router, and just use my Bright House Networks cable connection (which offers over twice Verizon's DSL speed for only $12 more than what they were going to pay for DSL).

... 49 minutes, two departments, and waiting on the third.

Reminds me why I never do business with Verizon.

Sucks that I'm the family's "technical support" person.

This was first my GTE company badge, from way back in 1997. We later merged with Bell Atlantic to form the Verizon company, and in the transition they just slapped the Verizon sticker on top of the GTE logo.

Then, they issued us new cards, and when they did, we just attached the new card over the old so we could continue using the magnetic swipe in the original card.

Eerie looking how contact over time erased my nose and mouth! It's like some Twilight Zone episode.
