This location opened in 2010 and relocated to 200 North Washington Highway in 2019; it was originally part of a Safeway, which opened on March 20th, 1977 (originally located at 605 England Street) and closed in the late 1980s. This portion later became Video Magic, which closed in the late 2000s. Part of the space became a T-Mobile on April 8th, 2022, while the remainder became a Carytown Tobacco on September 5th, 2022.

The building was built for New York Telephone, a subsidiary of AT&T. When AT&T was broken up in 1984 New York Telephone and New England Telephone were combined to form NYNEX. NYNEX was bought by Bell Atlantic in 1997 and Bell Atlantic bought GTE in 2000, renaming itself Verizon in the process.

Smuggler Inc blocked 7th Street from Olive to Broadway for the shooting of this funky Verizon/Fios commercial. The Night Lights by BeBee lit up the Jewelry District and had people snapping cell phone shots of the unique scene. They're scheduled to shoot all night.
Smuggler is the creative behind the Logitech Kevin Bacon spots.
It is said to resemble the shape of a cello. The wood in there is just amazing.
Verizon Hall is the largest performance space in the Kimmel Center, and is home to the Philadelphia Orchestra.
