The Macro Mondays theme for 10/11 is sidelit.
Of the four possibilities this one is my favorite. If it drives me too crazy, I’ll take it into post processing later to get rid of that tiny hair.
This portion of the little sugar bowl is under two inches and I’ll put up a context picture later to verify that.

The Macro Mondays theme for 2/13 is hearts and I tried really hard to get the micro duckies to line up in a heart shape and, well, you know, they aren’t always cooperative. (It’s hard to get all your ducks in a row!! - right?) With the inclusion of the chestnut????, it was easier to get them arranged in some semblance of a heart….. This is just a tad over two and a half inches- I’ll add the size verification in a bit when I’m on my laptop. (see the first comment box)
****(later) Upon further research I think this is actually a black walnut shell. Will take a picture of the other side tomorrow***

Anyone that knows me, knows my huge passion and love for boats, ships and tugs.
The Ku'ulakai is by far my most favorite tug.
This beautiful old girl is being lovingly refit and moored in the historic, fishing village of Steveston.

Used as a Tugboat all along the West Coast of BC
Ku'ulakai is said to be the only intact Mikki tug in Canadian waters.
Builder: Northeast Shipbuilding, Quincy Massachusetts, USA
According to onlines sources, this tug was built as a wooden Mikki US Army Tug - LT465, and used by the U.S. navy during the Second World War to tow damaged ships from the Pacific back for repair.
Online information also reports that later on in life, she was used by drug runners in the South Pacific and that in 1988 was seized by the Canadian Coast Guard for smuggling drugs out of China.
She was originally named: Lloyd B. Gore, decommissioned & sold 1946.

The 1936 Auburn Boattail Speedster (predominantly the Model 852 Supercharged) is one of the most iconic and visually striking American cars of the Art Deco era. Designed by Gordon Buehrig, it featured a supercharged 150-horsepower straight-eight engine and an aerodynamic "boattail" rear end, and was famously certified to exceed 100 mph.

Weibliche Blutrote Heidelibelle im Butterbargsmoor.
Sie sieht weitaus weniger spaktakulär aus als die männliche. Optisch erinnert sie an die Gemeine Heidelibelle, mit der sie deshalb auch leicht verwechselt werden kann.
Da sie sich in der Nähe der männlichen Blutroten Heidelibelle aufhielt, nahm ich zwar an, dass es die weibliche Variante war. Aber das wollte ich lieber erstmal anhand eines Merkmals, das auf meinem Bild sichtbar ist, überprüfen und bin mir nun deshalb auch sicher.

Female Ruddy Darter Dragonfly in the Butterbargsmoor.
It looks far less spectacular than the male. Visually, it resembles the Vagrant Darter, which is why it's easily confused.
Since it was near the male Ruddy Darter, I assumed it was the female variant. But I wanted to verify that first using a characteristic visible in my photo, and now I'm certain.
The MM theme is odd and the micro-mini duckies are back!! After a MM posting last week that wasn’t at all my usual, I thought the blue duckies should make an appearance.
In the 1660s, English physicist and mathematician Isaac Newton began a series of experiments with sunlight and prisms. Based on his experiments he argued that the geometric nature of the laws of reflection and refraction could only be explained if light is made of particles, which he referred to as corpuscles, as waves don't tend to travel in straight lines. Newton concluded that light is composed of colored particles that combine to appear white.

GMC 910 Truck 1969 Owner Verification (Vintage manual focus lens) - Chatted for a while to the owner of this 1969 GMC 910 Truck (he verified the year) who was unloading it outside the skate hire shop at Olympic Plaza today. He’d owned the truck for a number of years and was thinking about having it repainted in the spring. Didn’t look in bad shape given it’s age!
The big news in the museum during August 2014 was the arrival of the IBM 705 Data Processing System Console from the Adjutant General's Corps Museum. Along with the console came an IBM 727 Magnetic Tape Unit, an IBM 024 Card Punch, an IBM 056 Verifier and an IBM 3350 Direct Access Storage device - or disk. The latter was attached to the Royal Army Pay Corps' (RAPC) System/370 Model 158.
The major challenge, as always with these larger items is getting them through the doors of Hursley House. In 1721, the architect failed to predict the advent of the computer and so the house wasn't really designed for them. Even the second architect who remodelled the House in 1905 was no better with precognition skills and so designed doorways inadequate for large twentieth century computer peripherals.
In order to get the 3350 into the House, the one remaining door had to be stripped off together with all the cover hinges in order to get it though the doors and strip out the two Head Disk Assemblies (HDAs) in order to reduce weight. Having got the unit though the Emergency Exit of the House, the lot was reassembled . If you know of a spare set of covers or even just a left front door, the museum would be happy to give them / it a new home.
The museum is able to dedicate a small room to the RAPC equipment. The 705 was used by the Army to process pay, but was also used in processing the 1961 UK Census - the first time that a computer was used for this purpose.
The artefacts in this room are kindly loaned by the Adjutant General's Corps Museum, Peninsular Barracks, Winchester, Hampshire.

Once verified the operation and management of the new camera and tested its proper functioning and not to tire the staff, I will upload pics as varied as possible of my huge stock.
In this case it is Zúrich that is a city whose tourist center is beautiful and I have many already edited and about to be uploaded to Flickr.
The conjunction of the urban landscape and the river Limmat gave me the ability to shoot the camera without rest and that most of them are good. The problem is to choose what to show in my gallery, because I have always intended to make it as varied as possible.
The opinion is always personal and there is the possibility of what I like, for another it is a vulgar photograph.
The edition is slightly different from my last images. I have tried to make it visually beautiful even though it is already by itself.
By the way, on the terrace with red flowers that looks to the left of the image, we ate my wife and myself. We ate very well, but the Swiss bills are terrifying.

Una vez comprobado el funcionamiento y manejo de la nueva cámara y comprobado su buen funcionamiento y para no cansar al personal, voy a volver a subir fotos lo mas variadas posible de mi inmenso stock.
En este caso le toca a Zúrich que es una ciudad cuyo centro turístico es bellísimo y tengo muchas ya editadas y a punto de ser subidas a Flickr.
La conjunción del paisaje urbano y el rio Limmat me dio la posibilidad de disparar la cámara sin descanso y que la mayor parte de ellas son buenas. El problema es escoger cual mostrar en mi galería, pues siempre he tenido la intención de hacerla lo más variada posible.
La opinión. siempre es personal y existe la posibilidad de lo que a mí me gusta, para otro sea una fotografía vulgar.
La edición es ligeramente diferente a mis últimas imágenes. He intentado que sea visualmente bella aunque ya lo es por sí misma.
Por cierto, en la terraza con flores rojas que se ve a la izquierda de la imagen, comimos mi esposa y un servidor. Comimos muy bien, pero las facturas suizas, son terroríficas.
