The Roman Forum's Temple of Venus and Roma, once Rome's largest temple, was designed by Emperor Hadrian himself and formally dedicated to the goddesses Venus Felix (the bringer of good fortune, representing amor {love}) and Roma Aeterna (Eternal Rome) in 135 A.D.
The temple once contained two connecting chambers, each of which represented one of the two divinities. Statues of both goddesses, Venus and Roma, were seated back-to-back on thrones where the chambers adjoined, each facing into her own chamber. (This placement was very deliberate, of course, since 'amor' is 'roma' spelled backwards.)

Venus de Milo, es una de las estatuas más representativas del período helenístico de la escultura griega, y una de las esculturas más famosas de la antigua Grecia. Fue creado en algún momento entre 130 a.C. C. y 100 a. C., y se cree que representa a Afrodita, diosa del amor y la belleza.
Esta estatua fue encontrada en Milo (Cícladas) desenterrada por un campesino y vendida a Francia entre 1819 y 1820.

The view from Zabriskie Point is no less stunning after dark. As last month’s super moon illuminates the foreground, Venus is seen setting over the alien horizon right in front of the faint, but visible, milky way.

Venus shows a great brightness in the sky to the naked eye, imposing towards the sunset of the southern skies. However, when seen through the telescope, it is just a small silver sickle against a dark sky.
