Vectorial Elevation

by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer

Statement by the artist as quoted from his website:

"Vectorial Elevation" is an interactive art project originally designed to celebrate the arrival of the year 2000 in Mexico City’s Zócalo Square. The website www.alzado.net enabled any Internet user to design light sculptures over the city’s historic centre, with eighteen searchlights positioned around the square. These searchlights, whose powerful beams could be seen within a 15 kilometers radius, were controlled by an online 3D simulation program and visualised by digital cameras. A personalised webpage was produced for every participant with images of their design and information such as their name, dedication, place of access and comments.

The Vector W8, an idea of aircraft enthusiast Gerald Wiegert, was produced by Vector Aeromotive Corporation. The design reflects his passion for aviation, with a cockpit-like dashboard full of buttons and screens, an analog compass, and an engine hour meter. The selector lever of the three-speed automatic, to the driver’s left, resembles an aeroplane throttle. Named after Wiegert and the V8 engine, the W8 went into production in 1989 after 17 years of prototype testing. The design remained unchanged: low, wide, with scissor doors and an aerodynamic body with integrated rear wing. The centrally-mounted Chevrolet Corvette V8 engine, increased to 6.0 litres with the addition of two turbos, delivered 625 hp. Vector claimed a top speed of 380 km/h, but this was never proven. Only 19 examples were built up to 1993. A well-known customer was tennis star Andre Agassi. The car played a role in the 1993 film ‘Rising Sun’, also the year in which production of the W8 stopped.

Hobbies: Running from the Government, Searching for a hide out, and Looking for anything

Height: 6"

Weight: 164

Hair Color: Silver

Skin Color: Pale

Eye Color: One Ice Blue and One Golden Yellow

Bio: The government had been running tests on people for years, but one year they took people who had joined their military and had experimented on them Vector Marsh used to have lovely black hair, and ice blue eyes. And when they had experimented on them, they were trying to make the perfect solider. One that cannot be effected by terrain or anything, the abilities that happened was his one good eye went over to heat vision so he could see people through anything, but it's at will and he gets to turn it off and on. He could walk through walls, be invisible, hear from a mile away, and use telekinesis. So they made the perfect solider, one fault in it was what happens to the mind when it's locked and wants free? Well Vector broke out, nothing could stop him and he's been running from the military ever since he ran off
